#187 Sketch - Harvest Time

Try Stamping On a Tuesday is a sketch challenge blog, with a twist of adding a theme for you to be even  more challenged. Time to stretch, to allow your creativity and imagination to  take a journey.
Below you will find the sketch to work within the title for the next two weeks is HARVEST TIME.
I had fun with this card, yes it does take me out of my comfort box, but isn't that what challenges are for? I found some plaid and patterned paper in my stash. The Autumn sentiment is from a Sheena Douglass Autumn Leaves stamp set. The Leaves are from a freebie stamp with a magazine. The scarecrow and pumpkins are from a recent purchase, thrilled with the reduced price at  a craft event. I coloured the background with Distrss Inks and drew in the birds, my one claim to being an artist, I can draw birds. LOL I look forward to popping around to see your completed creation. Have fun.

No Balls Allowed (Sport)

Hi again, it was my choice for this week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and I chose No Balls Allowed (sport). We do tend when making cards for males to firstly think along the lines of ball sports, but this challenge gives us the opportunity to think of lots more other sports. I have used a stamp of a racing speed boat, which was from Tandastamps, an old past favourite stamp supplier, sadly no longer in business. I coloured using Promarkers, a Sakura pen and a Quickie glue pen and Crystal glitter to the waves. The background papers are from a Generations Paper and Card Stacker pad. The greeting from Hobby Art with card candi to embellish. I look forward to visiting you to see your creations.

Here Come The Girls

For the challenge for the next two weeks at Fantasy Stampers, Jan would like to see Girls, the title being ' Here Come The Girls' . Please pop over to check out the details and of course the amazing inspiration from the Design Team.  I love this stamp from Indigo Blu which was a freebie with a magazine recently in the UK. I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest, this being my creation. For the background, I blended Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Tea Dye. The girl was stamped with Crafter's Pigment Ink - Royal Blue. I used Chipped Sapphire to stamp the foilage and dragonflies. I drew with a Quickie Glue pen onto the hair and embellishments, left it to dry, then added gold foil by rubbing with my bone folder, but found my  thumb nail did the better job. Added a blue ribbon. This card is intended for an on-line  Sapphire swap. I hope you enjoy the challenge and have a happy healthy two weeks ahead.

White on White -Christmas Card

Hello again, this week at My Time To Craft we are challenging you to make a Christmas card, which must be White on White, your image can be coloured, but please check out the blog to see the requirements and the inspirational projects from the Design Team. I was inspired myself from a similar card I saw on Pinterest, this being my own design. The card is 6 x 4 inches, the banner is silver mirri card, matted with a strip of embossed card, I used an embossing folder called Christmas Vines. I heat embossed onto vellum with Versamark and Stampendous detail White powder, using a beautiful new set of flowers from Honey Doo Designs, the branch of leaves from Chloe Stamps. Have fun and be happy.

The design team have been having fun with this one, please be sure to pop over to check out their inspirational projects. For an on-line swap group, I am needing a project which has butterflies so I decided to combine the two challenges. The notebook is one of those sold in a bundle of 5, so I have 4 spare books lying around. Covering the front cover I have managed to use a number of quadruples :-
4 Distress Inks - Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose, Aged Mahogany and Festive Berries.
4 Stamps - Script, Circles, leaves and Just a Note
4 gemstones x twice
4 roses and of course 4 butterflies.
Of course if you decide to choose for your Quads only 4 jewels, this would be acceptable, why don't you pop over and check out the rules. Have fun and be happy.

Water

Hi, for this week at Cardz 4 Guyz, the theme is Water. There are some amazing inspiring projects over on the blog, from the Design Team and the Guest Designers, which show there are so many ways you can add water to your project. I love my underwater stamps from Sheena Douglass, so this was another way I could put them into action. I was inspired by a card on Pinterest from the Sheena Douglass team, this is my version of the card. I used both the Hidden Stars and Underwater Angels stamp sets. Salty Ocean, Broken China, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks were used.
Kraft card and Stampendous Fine Detail White embossing powder for the embellishments. I look forward to visiting everyone of you who enter the challenge. I hope you have a happy week.

Birthday Card for a Male

Hello again, welcome back. For the next two weeks at CD Sunday Challenges we would like to see a Birthday Card for a Male. At one time thee was so little to choose from other than mostly sport type cards for men. Thank goodness there is now a much bigger variety available. My OH, and I suspect he is not alone, enjoys a good glass or red wine, along with a divine cheese board with all trimmings. I found this wonderful image on a Joanna Sheene produced CD - the artist being Janet Kruskamp.I decoupaged the chef with all of his balanced goods.  There is such a wide variety available on this CD. Please do pop and check out the inspiration provided by the Design Team and remember you must use something if not everything from a CD. Have fun, I again look forward to visiting your blog.

For my card, I chose from my stamps, this adorable Mermaid - Annabel the Mermaid by Crafty Sentiments, she is so cute. The rock, bubbles and seaweeds are from the same company. The little fishes are from a Sheena Douglass set of Underwater stamps. The greeting stamp is from Kanban Crafts - Sugar Buttons set. I coloured the sea with DI Broken China and Faded Jeans, both as a water colour and blended from the ink pad with Cut and Dry around the edges. Remainder was coloured with Promarkers. Finally matted onto some highly polished mirri card.  Have fun in your Fantasy world, I look forward to visiting to see your creation.

Anything Goes

For the next two weeks at Ruby's Rainbow we are hoping to be busy, busy, because we the challenge is ANYTHING GOES, Yes, you can do whatever you like, as long as it is a hand crafted item made by you. Have fun. I am looking forward to the amazing creations over the next few weeks. For my creation I printed the above design from a Janet Kruskamp CD produced by Joanne Sheene. It is a perfect CD for Anything Goes, there is so much variety to choos from. I adore this form of fashion. I only added a few small embellishments for I wanted the eye to remain on the dress. A strip of adhesive lace, a few pink pearls, a sprinkle of Crystal glitter Glamour Dust. Enjoy when creating.

#185 Colour with Sketch

Hi everyone, this week at Try Stamping on a Tuesday we have our sketch and a colour theme for you.

Theme Colours to use are YELLOW, ORANGE AND BROWN
I used papers from my Halloween box of paper and cards, I have had them a few years so am not sure of the source of the scrapbook papers. I edged them all with Vintage Photo DI. The stamp I used is from a set by Hobby Art - Woodland Scene. I water coloured the stem of the toadstool, and used Promarkers for the remainder, apart from a few areas on the top of the toadstool where I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to add some glitter. I look forward to visiting you over the next two weeks. Have fun everyone, enjoy your double challenge, I and the remainder of the team did, please pop and see their wonderful  inspirational cards.

No Patterned Paper

Hi everyone, this week at Cardz 4 Guyz Helen has chosen for the theme 'No Patterned/Designer Paper'. An opportunity to get out your inks, embossing folders, making a mess, if needed creating your own backgrounds or once again going clean and simple. I saw a technique on You Tube I wanted to try, it has partially worked but not as great a success as I hoped for. I adhered 3 strips of aluminium tape to a piece of white card, I smeared my Cuttelbug folder with Black Soot ink, embossed the prepared card, Most of the ink came off in the drying process. I don't think I'll be trying it again.
Materials used -
White, red and black card stock.  Aluminium tape (DIY) Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, ribbon and black gems. The stamp is from a very old set from Tandastamps, stamped onto red card with Memento Black in pad.

Things With Wings

Here we are again at Sparkles Forum monthly challenge - our theme this month being Things With Wings. Such a variety available to you, with this theme. I recently made this card for my class, which of course fits in perfectly with the challenge. I used a 5.75 white card. Embossed with large Swiss Dots a panel which  I then used a Spellbinder scalloped die to create the aperture. Pretty LOTV designer paper added below the aperture. Dimensional pads added to raise the panel. Prepared butterlies added to the card. The butterflies were stamped onto vellum using Versamark, white detailed embossing powder then heated. Butterlies then cut out and added to the card with silicone.
Stamps used ;- Tattered Butterflies from Lyndsay Mason, a La blanche foam butterfly, the smallest butterfly from Elusive Images. Here is a close up of the largest of the butterlies.
Many thanks to our sponsors this month
The Winner will receiver Marianne Designs 2 Dies or 1 Die & 1 stamp

Halloween

Boo! Oh! I just love Halloween. Spooky! Ghouls! Witches! I love the colours, the whole thing. I know I'm grown up and shouldn't be so excited but Hey it's this type of wonderment which keeps the mind young. This week at My Time To Craft it was my turn to choose the theme, being the time of year we are going to see lots of Halloween projects, so I thought, Why Not!? Let us be among the first. It's fun. I was inspired to make this card by one I saw on Pinterest though I have obviously changed a lot in the design. The background has been embossed with a swirly pattern using Black Wow! embossing powder, as has the witch and around the edges of the added panel. . Unfortunately the shimmer and glittery look doesn't show in the picture. Strips of green, orange and black papers, green fibre,  shiny green and black ribbon and a green gingham bow  all added to enhance. The greeting was computer generated. have you spotted the bat in the top right corner, stamped in black onto orange card.? The swirly stamps are from Creative Expressions, the witch and bat are by Tandastamps. I am so much looking forward to seeing all of the forthcoming projects for Halloween. I am sure you will all have fun who venture into the scary world of ghosts and ghouls. He! He! He!

Photo Inspiration

Autumn Inspiration
It never ceases to amaze me, how in nature,  just a few days can make a big difference. I am sure a few days ago, the trees outside my playroom window were all shades of greens, today I have noticed  the leaves are turning into a myriad of colours. Russets, yellow, and orange are emerging within the green shades. How quickly the beginning of autumn is letting me know it is coming. My second favourite season is on it's way. To celebrate the coming of Autumn , Jan, at Fantasy Stampers  has provided us with  Autumn Inspiration.  Why don't you pop over to see the amazing inspiration from the Design Team along with Jan's guidelines for the challenge. For my card, I used so many of TH's Distress Inks, I can't list them all, from the lightest being Squeezed Lemonade to Spiced Marmalade and all inbetween blended onto the main body and the inner panel. I lightly stamped second generation of leaves over both. Added the greeting, stamped and cut using a Go Kreate stamp and die.  The cascading leaves were created by blending spare white card with all of the above colours, stamping using Distress Inks Gathered Twigs, the leaves stamp is from a set of leaves given as a present a long time ago, I don't know who produced them. Have fun, I am looking forward to visiting you over the next two weeks.

Clean and Simple at Cardz 4 Guyz

This week at Cardz 4 Guyz, Julie of the Design Team has chosen Clean and Simple for our weekly challenge. CAS has not been my style.  I like making a mess, with lots of ink and techniques, even lately my embellishments have been growing in numbers. However, lately, I have got to be honest, the CAS style is starting to appeal to me. LOL Talking about making a mess, some months ago I had a wonderful fun session with a can of shaving foam, some inks and some card. I still have all of the amazing sheets of swirled patterns in a box, this card has evolved using a piece of one of the cards. I used a black Memento pad to stamp onto the shaving foam created card. I stamped a few of the Inchies Bird stamps from Inkadinkado.
The greeting is from my stash - I believe from Crafty Companions.  Please pop over to the blog to check out the amazing projects by the DT. We still have a DT CALL, you don't need any DT experience, you need a blog and to be interested and able to make male cards.  Simple as that.

Teddy Bear's Picnic

For the next challenge at My Time To Craft (MTTC) we would like to see a Teddy Bear as the main image, backing paper alone is not acceptable. My main image is from the CD Meadow Cottage Bears - designed by Christine Howarth - produced by Crafter's Companion. I had so many Teddy Bears to choose from but this one is so perfect. The main image is decoupaged.  I used left over pieces of backing papers, with a shabby chic twist. A little lace, a few gems and some twine to tie the tag completes the card. Please check out the blog for I am sure the Design Teams projects will inspire you. Have fun.

Anything Embossed

I am so pleased to see Cuttlebug Mania back from their summer break.  For the first challenge they have kept it  simple,  anything embossed. Here I have used a Cuttlebug embossing  folder, with Black/white Core'dinations card. Sanded back to expose the white core. Sorry don't know the origin of the motor bike stamp, coloured with a gold and black pen. Grungy Greetings from LOTV. Four brads and ribbon added.

#87 Keys at Ruby's Rainbow

Hello everyone, today at Ruby's Rainbow the challenge for the next two weeks is KEYS. I decided to go down the road to a Steampunk style.  Keys are a popular embellishment, so it suited the theme well. I started with a piece of black/blue Core'dinations card, embossed with Cogs by Splodgeaway. Sanded this down after being embossed. Added a piece of material to which the key has been added with a ribbon  The stamps used are varied.
The astroglobe and watch - Papermania - Chronology series - free with a magazine.
The sentiment from a stamp set - 'Time' from Creative Expressions.
The 3 Gentlemen - stamp from Crafty Individuals
I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with this challenge, keys are a great embellishment for all styles of cards. Please do check out the Design Team cards for they are bound to inspire you.

No Man Like a Snowman

Another month has passed us by and here we are in September. For the remainder of this month at Sparkles Forum Christmas Challenges our challenge is 'No Man Like A Snowman' . I'm sure you will all hve fun with this one. I love snowmen, yes, real ones and of course those we can find on our Christmas cards. For my Design Team card my backing papers in traditional colours are from a Papermania paper pad. I used both red and white card to mat them. The main image is a Tulip design also from Papermania. The lovely tags are Christmas Tags from LOTV. Snowflakes from punches and a sprinkle here and there of crystal glitter. Have fun and happy crafting.
