The Little Chef-Bradley

For the next two weeks at Alphabet Challenge it is the choice of Tammy from the DT who chose KITCHEN. We would like to see any type of project with either food or drink as the main focus on the project. I decided it was time I got back to scrap booking the 8 x 8" scrapbooks I have for each of my 6 grandchildren. this is of Bradley, way back in 2005, tossing the first pancake he had helped Grand dad to make. It landed safely in the pan. I made the Chef's hat by folding white paper, the other small embellishments were acquired from the kitchen in my large dolls house. I look forward to seeing your Kitchen projects over the next few weeks. Have fun.

Ashee Digi Stamp

This week at ATCs  & Cards with Attitude we are being kindly  sponsored by several Digi Stamp providers. The little character you see above is called Ashee from Anita's Digital Stamps. Please see all details and contacts for the sponsors on the main blog.I water coloured the background with mica powders, sadly the shimmer doesn't show well. I used Promarkers to colour with a little Glossy accents on the mushroom spots. I look forward to visiting you to see your creations for our challenge this week which is Anything Goes. Have fun.

Victorian Boot

This week at   Fat Pages with Attitude      I decided to use my digi stamp on a card. The theme  is Anything Goes. The sponsor is Meljens Designs. I love this Victorian boot, I coloured it with Promarkers and a Sakura silver pen. The small greeting stamp "For You" was a recent purchase - Anita's stamp for only 50p., now that's what I call good value. I still have a few to visit who took part in our last challenge, it was a wonderful response, but the terrible storm yesterday, had an effect on my computer, which wasn't working for me to make my final visits, but I will be around to the latter entries to say thanks. I look forward to visiting you to see your entries again over the next two weeks.

The worst storm imaginable.

"Yesterday was the most unexpected and worst storm I have ever experienced in my life." This is a statement being said by just about everyone today, regardless of their ages. Everyone has a tale to tell. No matter where you lived around the Newcastle area, and beyond, you were in the eye of the storm. Thunder, very regular lightning, torrential rain and hailstones. Flooding in areas which never flood. A canoe down a street in a housing estate, folk literally swimming to get past the worst areas. Cars left, abandoned for safety reasons.
The Gateshead Metro Centre, it used to be the the largest shopping centre in UK , now I think the second largest, was evacuated at 4. 30 pm. water was gushing into the shops. If you can imagine the number of cars which were there, all leaving at the same time, a mass exodus. Some roads were found to be closed, others totally grid locked because of the volume of traffic. A little story I have is of my 17 yr old grandson who was with his girlfriend, her mother and her mother at the Metro Centre, they were amongst those who had to leave. It took them from 4. 30 p.m. to 12. 30 a.m. yes, 8 hours to travel a normal 35 minutes journey. During the return trip, they ate all of the produce they had bought for tea for when they got home. Fortunately the chicken was cooked. The important news is they all arrived home, safe and well. Everything is drying up today, some schools and businesses, traffic systems have had to close for cleaning out the debris from yesterday. Indeed yesterday was a day I don't think many will forget.

A Cute Wedding

Yes, to my followers, I've gone cute again!! I'm really liking these cute bear stamps from Fizzy Moon - this one is called Wedding Bells. I made the card for the challenge Weddings at My Time To Craft I will also be adding to a few more challenges. I dry embossed the background, coloured the stamped image with Promarkers. I added the ribbon and flowers with diamonds in the centre to embellish. The flowers are made from a wonderful little stamp I recently purchased from http://www.dreamees.org.uk it is so easy to make the flowers. I think you'll be seeing a lot of them in various colours on my future cards.

Wimbledon Dessert

Of course your right, what else could it be but Strawberries (Red/Dark Pink), Cream and of course mustn't forget the lawns (Green). We, at Make My Monday, are having a colour challenge, during our June Events, this week it is for Wimbledon and the delicious dessert colours, delicious if your not allergic to them.
RED, CREAM or White and GREEN
Here is my card, just to show how much I love poppies, I have two cards in a row on my blog using poppies, sorry, I didn't realise this would happen, but if you love poppies I'm sure you won't mind. I first stamped the poppies stamp twice -from Sheena Douglas Poppies and Daisies set. I then coloured the remainder of the card with DI Peeled Paint, around the edges a little of Shabby Shutters.  I dried the ink then splattered water over it, leaving it for a short while for the colour to disperse,  dried again with my heat gun. Stamped the sentiment which is from the same set. I coloured in the poppies with Promarkers. Added a shrivelled cream bow and a red button to embellish the card. I edged it with a thick black marker rather than mount onto black card. I am really looking forward to visiting you this next week, I apologise for not being able to visit as many this past week but, I am hoping to put that right this week.

Sketch Time at CD.Sunday

This week at CD. Sunday Challenges it is time for a sketch. It's a nice simple sketch for you to use to make a card or other project,  with at least one product from a CD. This gives you lots of scope. I love poppies, so this became my choice from Sheena Douglass Paint Fusion. Everything, to decorate the white card, except the card candy, the piece of red card and the punched leaf sprig, are from the CD. I find  there are some adorable floral and leaf backing papers as well as monochromatic distressed papers on this CD. I look forward to visiting your blogs, there are always wonderful cards to see and they inspire me, so I hope I can inspire you.

Midsummer Night's Dream

At Make My Monday for the next week we are entering into a dream world, our topic is A Midsummer Night's Dream, so you can make your project either of dreams, fairies or anything you believe fits in the topic  which is continuing Jacqueline's theme for the month of 'June and it's associated events'. I love to use this stamp which is from Bravura, she isn't really a typical fairy, more risqué than a pretty fairy. I first stamped the fairy, then masked her. I created the background with various DI from Ranger, a few sprays from Cosmic Shimmers, adding even more glitter here and there. I was pleased to achieve the mystical background I was aiming for. A few trees across the horizon. In the foreground a mixture of stamps were used. The last thing I did was to remove the mask and colour in the fairy with Promarkers, and even more glitter. A wonderful response last week, for a popular topic, it would be terrific to see as many fairies or dreamers this next week. Thanks to those who take the time to visit my blog and of course for any comments which are always appreciated.

Delicious Damask

This week at CD Sunday Challenges we are looking for something to fit comfortably with Delicious Damask.
The background paper is from Papermania Signature- A Christmas Carol A5 Linen pack - old stock. I don't have any  CD Damask papers. I checked out via Google what Damask was and was surprised to find I had lots of suitable backing papers. Other elements are gold mirri card and prints from Debbie Moore Shabby Chic - Vintage Flowers.  I used a scalloped card which was white, I coloured around the edge with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. The ballerinas last week were amazing, a great pleasure to visit you all. I am looking forward to the variations on the theme of Delicious Damask, have fun ladies (and any gents).

Nature at FSC

For the next two weeks we at Fashionable Stamping Challenges are asking you to get into Nature. There are so many themes which will suit the overall theme of Nature, so I am sure we can look forward to seeing your wonderful varied creations. I played about with colour, Distress inks and a couple of Cosmic Shimmer sprays. I enjoy creating backgrounds as you can see. I then used in several colours to stamp Indigo Blu from Nature 1. The birds, I frequently use are from Inkylicious. Have fun and many thanks for your visit and for any comments you may leave.
Also entered into The Cheerful Stamp Pad for "In the Garden" - not all gardens are blooming and tidy, come and see mine.

J- is for Journey

For the next two weeks at Alphabet Challenge it is J for Journey, which was my choice, so I am hoping you will like the challenge. I stamped the background of my card with a map, useful for a journey. The building, the statue and the small words are all from Inidgo Blu. The gentleman is from a set available at The Stampman - Across The Miles. Enjoy the journey is from Creative Expressions - Flight. I used throughout Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint DI from Ranger. I am looking forward to the many varied ways of seeing your creative journeys.
I am also entering this card into The Stampman Challenge - Time and Travel.

For Father's Day

To add to my growing collection of Fat Pages I have added a cute one. For the next two weeks, we at
Fat Pages with Attitude are asking you to complete a Fat Page or if you wish a card with the theme of Father's Day or Anything Goes. I used a digi stamp from Fresh Brewed Designs of a fisherman enjoying a catch. I coloured it with Promarkers and added a few acrylic stamps to add some greenery and trees. I look forward to visiting your blogs to see your creations and of course am always thrilled when you visit mine. thanks for any comments you may leave.

ATC - A Can of Flowers

At ATCs with Attitude we are for the next two weeks making it easy for you - Anything Goes. We would like you to make either an ATC or if you wish a card.  I have used a digi stamp from  Delicious Doodles            of a very pretty watering can full of flowers. I stamped the cracked pavement and the tall grasses behind. I even stamped a wee bird, if you an see him at the front. The can and flowers were coloured with Promarkers.   I look forward to visiting your blogs and of course appreciate any visitors and followers to mine. .

Back from the Cute Side.

I have recovered from the short time in Cute corner, it was fun, and I more than likely will pop there again, but here is a card I have prepared for my class later this week. We have been playing with wooden stamps from the Rubber Stamp Tapestry company, over the past two weeks, this will be our next stage. The background has been created using various green inks and leaf stamps. The same leaves, with the addition of flowers have been added to the square pane. The centre circle has been punched out, the sentiment stamp with the rose is from Anita's stamps, what a bargain, I got it for 50p.  I am entering this into
Lollipop Crafts  for their challenge Flowers in Bloom.

Hats or Handbags

Over at My Time to Craft it is the second week of their challenge, Hats or Handbags, there is something so stylish and nostalgic for me about Hats. The background on this card is a sheet from Kanban, (I think!) from my stash, still trying to use some old stash every time I craft. The images are from a Debbie Moore CD -Shabby Chic - Haberdashery. Addition of some pearls, buttons, cream flowers and a pretty green ribbon.

Father's Day

Continuing the month's theme, at Make My Monday, chosen by Jacqueline,  June's Celebrations/Events, we are challenging you this week, to make a Father's Day card/project, which in the UK is  June 17th. I have made a lot of male cards lately and really wanted to do something different, how more different could I get, by doing CUTE. Yes, my followers, I apologise now, it is cute. You see, I don't dislike cute, I just thought it's not me, but we all have to jump out of our boxes or comfort areas sometimes and this is a huge leap for me. I was in need of a new stamp fix and this is the one that caught my eye. I do hope you like it, and forgive me for adventuring into the cute craft world, which I found to be fun. The stamp Fizzy Moon, is called All About Him. The background papers are from a set from my stash, plus a piece embossed with Swiss dots, I coloured the image with Promarkers. The book is blank, which is good, the creator can write any title they wish to make it more personal. I am once again, looking forward to viewing your blogs to see your creations.
Also entered into Cards for Men - Father's Day Challenge

Beautiful Ballerina

At C.D. Sunday Challenges this week we are challenging you to find and produce  Beautiful Ballerina/s. My card is a 8" square. I matted the background paper onto a piece of pale blue card. the background papers, greeting, tag and decoupaged image are all from Paintbox Poppets, from Crafter's Companion.  I embellished with lots of punched out flowers, added pearls to the centre of the flowers. A large pink bow to add the final touch. I look forward to visiting your blogs and the many different ballerinas. The Gorgeous Green cards were exactly that, simply gorgeous. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to look at my blog and equally so for those who leave a comment, which is always appreciated.

MMM It's our birthday!

Yes, it's amazing but this challenge celebrates the first birthday of Make My Monday. Our wonderful 'boss' Jacqueline has chosen the theme and weekly topics for June, which is JUNE AND ASSOCIATED EVENTS.
Not only is it our birthday but it is also Jacqueline's next Sunday, so for her topic she would like to see a
Birthday Card with Pearls, for Pearls are the birthstone for the month of June. Here is my card.
The background is a designer sheet from Artylicious. I stamped, onto a piece of white card, then cut it out with a Spellbinders die, I inked it up before removing the die with a TH Distress ink. the stamp is from Penny black - Flying Stars.I followed the lines on the image with a Quickie glue pen, put it aside to dry. When dry, I rubbed in sections over all of the design with a piece of copper foil, so the flowers are actually foiled. I am hoping it will show up when enlarged. I added the required pearls and the appropriate greeting. I am looking forward to visiting your blogs to see your interpretations of our challenge. Thanks to everyone for your support, to past and present participants.

Magical and Mystical

The topic of Magical or Mystical was chosen by me at Fashionable Stamping Challenges, it is for two weeks so plenty of time to find the right stamps, maybe in the back of the cupboard or drawer. It can be anything you wish as long as it can be considered to be Magical or Mystical. I have recently bought the Stampendous Mermaid stamp, so this was my immediate thought. I prepared my background with a sheet of copy paper covered with Starburst Stains, the blue and green ones from the Victorian Bouquet set, available from The Stampman. the sheet was scrunched up when wet into a tight ball, this helps the mica within the stains to hit the peaks and land in the troughs. Once the paper was dry, I then started to decorate, with stamped shells, real small shells form an old shell necklace, pieces of blue, green fibres, a stamped treasure chest from a pirate set from Tandastamps, the anchor from Creative Expressions Coast set and of course the mermaid, which I coloured with Promarkers apart from her lower body, which was coloured in the same way as the background paper. please do pop over to the main blog for the Design team have such a variation on the theme, which I am sure will help to inspire you. Thanks for visiting and for any comments, which I do appreciate.
P.S. I forgot to say the gravel, pebbles etc are crunched egg shells, painted with mica powders.

Gorgeous Green

I am delighted to say this is my first card as a Design Team member for the lovely CD. Sunday Challenges. I have so much enjoyed entering these challenges I took the plunge and applied for their recent DT call, to my surprise and delight I was one of the two chosen. Thanks to all the team for this wonderful opportunity. The theme for the next week is Gorgeous Green.
I made an easel card, using papers from Debbie Moore, Shabby Chic - Haberdashery CD.in this pretty shade of green, with a few flowers to decorate with button centres. The main image has been mounted in the pyramage style. All the ephemera is from papers from the same CD. I look forward to visiting your creations.

Fat Page - A Lady

The Do Craft Fat Page Swap which I organise monthly is all about the Ladies this month. The brief is ' A Lady'. This is the fat Page I will entering into the swap. 4 x 4" card, is the size for a Fat Page and I am collecting mine into a book. For this one I first stamped in Black Memento, the La Blanche lady and swirls, from the Rubber Stamp Tapestry the leaves and flowers. Blotted it dry, then stamped my favourite background stamp the crackle effect from Creative Expressions, heat embossed with clear EP. When dry I started to add TH Distress inks in circular motions, working my out with the colours.  Curved the four corners added to a piece of black card. Finally added a few red gem stones. hope my partner will like it for I really enjoyed creating this fat page.

Yummy! Ice Cream

This week at Alphabet Challenge we have the letter I - Roxx decided on  Ice Cream. The weather we enjoyed last week was a great time for eating it, but we are back to the rain again. Never mind you will find the design team have some wonderful cards made showing off splendid designed ice creams. For my card I used two pretty papers from a 6 x 6 block with lots of ice cream colours, I found the ice cream in a children's free download section to colour, after reducing it's size, it became very useful for my card. I used Promarkers to colour, added some glitter glue, to make it look icy, a circle greeting from Lyndsay Mason stamps. Finished it off with a few ice cream coloured card candy. I have so enjoyed visiting your handmade flowers over the last few weeks, there have been some amazing creations. Well done everyone.
