Create Your Own Background

Hello, welcome to my blog. Today we begin a new two weekly challenge at Make My Monday,  Johanna has chosen #210 Create Your Own Background. To see the inspiration from the design team, please visit the blog.

I created my own background using Washi tape, this is one thing I have loads of, I am such an easy mark when I see any new rolls, love them. I cut a piece of 300 gsm. card for it to fit a 6 x 4 card. I covered all the outer edges with varied Washi tape, to give the illusion of materials draping over a table with the sewing machine in the centre. I used a sheet with a beautiful sewing machine from a Sewing Little Book from Hunkydory. I decoupaged several layers with 3D foam pads from the pages.  Matted the final page onto a gold Mirri mat. added a sentiment from my stash. Enjoy the challenge.

The The flower dies cut into black thin card are from Lisa Horton Wild Flower Garden Die Set.  The                               sentiment is a wooden die, from my stash. Inspired by( L is for Literature)

Hello everyone, How are you? Feeling well, I hope. Today another scorcher, though cooler than yesterday.
We begin a new challenge today at Alphabet Challenges. Veronika has chosen L is for Literature - to be inspired by a book - to be sure to name the bookTo see the inspiration given by the design team, please visit the above blog.
For my book I chose Count Dracula, I have many books in my mind which have found themselves in my top favourite books list , but it's not easy to find a stamp or similar in the craft world to produce a card, or worse still is it my lack of imagination and creativity:? Since making this card, I have had another 2 ideas.

A 6" white card, a silver Mirri mat and a black mat. On a piece of white card, I  painted  a stormy sky and grass for the  landscape around Whitby Abbey in North Yorkshire, England. The stamp is by Crafty Individuals.  A few small fun bats in the sky, Count Dracula stamp is by Crafty Sentiment Designs. Promarkers used to colour Dracula, who was stamped, coloured and fussy cut, then adhered to the scene. I hope you enjoy the challenge and feel inspired.

I stamped the leaves and poppy heads onto smaller watercolour card, painted them with Koh-I-Noor watercolour palette.  Fussy cut them, then decoupaged to the main mage.  Edged the card with Chipped Sapphire. DI. Added to silver Mirri card. Added the image panel with 3D foam pads, then onto a piece of Duo Design paper by Hunkydory. I added a sentiment with a stamp in my stash.
