At the Races -Trinitage

This is my second card for the Rainbow Lady, Age as in Decoupage or in my case Trinitage from La Pashe. I made several of this type of card for a demo class recently. This card is for a Dad who enjoys the races. A fuller description of the mechanics in making it are in the card below this one.

Grand Prix for Dad

The Rainbow Lady this week has an interesting challenge, called Age - as in Decoupage etc. I have chosen to complete two cards I hadn't quite finished, they had started out as demos for my weekly class. Firstly, let us go to the Grand Prix - A Happy Father's Day card - which is a Trinitage from La Pashe. A pop up card which is really easy to achieve. In the set you get two pieces of paper which you transfer to card to make small boxes to which you attach the different layers of the card. the second card I completed is above.

House and Home

I finished this Scrap book LO today, took a picture, I wondered if there would be a challenge it would fit, I am happy to say over at The Rainbow Lady, the challenge is for House and Home, now a dolls house may be lateral thinking, out of the box, but I'm sure it fits the challenge. The story of the House Painters  is on the piece of paper, which I have printed below, because it's too small to be read, even when enlarged.  I started with a 12 inch sq. piece of Kraft card and spritzed it, splashed it, made a good old mess of it with various inks. The title is made from a sheet of alphabet letters for scrap bookers, matted onto red card.  The paint pots are downloads from the internet. I realise not all my followers and visitors are into scrapbooking, I wonder, why not? I hope you still enjoy your visit and I thank you for all of your very kind comments.

Once I had told James all of my plans. without any discussion or negotiations I suddenly realised that the house belonged to James. James and I planned to cover the house in grey, then to add splashes of other paints to make it look real dingy. Granddad helped to paint the difficult bits inside the cottage. Matthew had a great suggestion to add a Broomstick landing pad on the roof, like a helicopter landing, and James said not with a H, it would have to be a B. A great time was had by all.''

Mardi Gras

This week at the Rainbow Lady's Challenge it is appropriately for the time of the year Mardi Gras. i am rather late but have had a few computer problems, I so didn't want to miss this challenge. I love the colour and drama of  Mardi Gras. I created my own background, with various TH Distress inks and a few splashes of Cosmic Shimmer spritz, only it didn't spritz, the end of the nozzle is obviously blocked. However I guess this is what is called either a big mistake, a happy accident or serendipity, I don't have time before the closure to make another. The image is from a stamp by Elusive Images ~ now Chocolate Baroque. I coloured a piece of card with various Distress inks, then stamped with a Memento Tuxedo Black. Thanks for such a colourful challenge.

The Many Faces of Women

Now that my blogging/commenting issue is solved for my blog, I am now able to up load to the
Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog my card entry for The Many Faces of Women. I really am not a pink girl, but whenever I want to make something soft and feminine I choose pink. I started by making a crackled resist background, used Milled Lavender and Worn Lipstick to cover the card. Stamped two ladies onto tissue paper and pasted them onto the card. I then stamped directly onto the card a stamp showing part of a ladie's face. Used a small swirl stamp and embossed with Wow! Gold E.P. Finally I stamped and coloured 3 of the lovely ladies to add to the centre of the card. I went around the edges with a gold pen, then added the small pink rosebuds.

Your Choice - Not Christmas!

Today I found an interesting challenge blog, called  the Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog. Thanks to the wonderful service provided by the Feline Playful blog, their logo is in my side bar. At the Rainbow Lady's blog, it seems this week we are able to make our own Choice. As much as I love Christmas, it will be a few weeks before I want to even think of making a Christmas card. I aim each year to make at least one a week, during the normal non Christmas card making time. I hope this non seasonal card will fit in for the challenge.
