Up in the Sky

Over at My Time To Craft their current challenge is 'Up in the Sky'. I have been catching up on some scrapbooking pages of older photographs these past few months and I feel this one is perfect for the challenge. We had a marvellous day at the Sunderland Kite Festival and the boys still talk about it to this day. I made all of the kites on the LO page, using pieces of paper, some of them being from Oriental countries, Japan and China. I hope you enjoy looking at the page, I apologise for the little darkness on a few of the photos. I so enjoy making scrapbook LOs. Mid Week Motivation at MMM

Hi, this is Caz here, a member of the Make My Monday design Team, for the Mid Week Motivation I have prepared a very simple and easy to follow mini-tutorial which again uses Distress Inks from Ranger. The theme is to use Blue and Brown,  the only two colours I have used on a plain white card. First you need to choose the size of card you want to make, then add a layer of card or paper, in this case I used brown. Then you need to cut a piece of white card to place onto the brown card when completed. Punch out with either a hand punch or a die cut a circle, the size really depends on the size of your card. I used a hand punch using a post it note to have a temporary sticky side for the moon. Place on the white card where needed.

I then chose Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Faded Jeans, for the blue shades of Distress Inks. Starting at the bottom with Tumbled Glass,  I added to approx the lower third. I then added the Broken China the  next third and finally the Faded Jeans to the upper third. I went around the entire piece with the Faded Jeans forming a defined edge all around. I sprayed water into the palm of my hand, gathered the water at my fingertips and splattered the water onto the inked page, this gives good large spots which lifts off the ink. Pat with a dry piece of a wet wipe or similar. I then dried the card with my heat tool.

For the next week we at Addicted to Stamps and More are challenging you to create something, anything which fits in the category of ANYTHING GOES - we are expecting to see lots of different forms of creations.   I had the greatest fun and the most nervous time combined when decorating this box. Let me explain. Firstly it was the first time I have tackled this form of creative work using this technique. Secondly the finished product wasn't for me, so mistakes weren't really acceptable, whilst a learning curve it had to be right. I belong to a recently formed Yahoo group called Stampers UK, we organise various forms of swaps, which of course must include stamping and/or stamping techniques. Recently we had a Secret Object swap, we each had to add what colour/s we would like and what form of theme we would prefer for whatever our object was. We were then each allocated a partner. My partner wanted either Steampunk or Victorian in blue and yellow. She almost got her full wish but I went with peach instead of yellow. For a few weeks I have been popping onto You Tube to check out how you cover an object with stamped on tissue paper, then I received in the post from the organiser of the swap, a round tin. I gasped, I wasn't expecting anything other than a flat object, but I went back to You Tube and set to. I painted the box with blue acrylic, then got stamping onto white tissue paper. It is very much like decopatch, only with a one layer of tissue paper instead of papers. I made some flowers  and butterflies for the lid. Added  a dash  of Stampendous embossing powder and glitter flakes. Then I added some glue and gilding flakes. My swap partner, I am pleased to say loves her box. I have managed to get some similar boxes from a local craft shop, and next on my agenda is, I am going to teach my card class how to do this. Well, ladies, it's your turn now to make

New Challenge at Make My Monday

Here we are at Make My Monday, starting our new challenge, which this week is my choice. I love colours and techniques, so for this challenge I have chosen for us to use Blue and Brown shades only on our project. 

I have made a card, a masculine type for a change, I have combined some designer papers and plain blue and brown card. My main image is the stamped engine from Tandastamps. I have added a few sprinkles of mixed  Stampendous Frantage, heated it, for the billowing smoke. I do hope you enjoy this challenge. Thank You - CD Sunday Challenges

This week at CD Sunday Challenge Beryl has challenged us to make a THANK YOU card. We all need at some time or another to have maybe one or two put aside for those times when you just want to thank someone for that little expression of kindness. I made this card specifically for a friend who really adores pansies. the image is from a Peerless Designs - Yesteryear Floral Vase Collection. The remainder consist of card from my stash, the yellow ribbon and a foam stamp saying Thank You. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the trellis pattern on the side of the card. An easy card to make, but we do sometimes need that quick card. I'm sure you will enjoy making this week's card and I look forward to visiting you all again. Before I leave I would like to Welcome Sue T to our Design Team, I have long admired her creations and am thrilled to be on the same team, working along side her. 

E is for Emerald

For the next two weeks at Alphabet Challenge we would like to see your creations using any shade of green, which MUST be the prominent colour on your project. E for Emerald is the choice made by Tammy, but because she is so considerate, she decided any shade of green will do. I have used a selection papers from my stash, a few die - cuts to embellish. My main topper is from Crafty Sentiments - Jasmine my foxy lady. Coloured with Promarkers. I do hope you have fun creating your project. I look forward to visiting you.

The card below is one I have made. I am truly no artist but with these stamps from Hobby Art you can at least pretend you are a water colour painter.

I used most of the stamps from Coastal Wildlife and a few from Coastal Scene-it. I mainly used Distress Inks as a water colour paint, the chair is a stamp by Mary Hughes. I am looking forward to checking in on your creations to see how you have interpreted the photo, remember all we need is an interpretation, but most of all have fun and enjoy what your doing.
