Caught in Crystal
I love to pop into Mynette's challenge blog Technique Time Tuesday , I am interested in learning new techniques whenever possible, however, for this particular challenge I have made cards using this wonderful technique before, so had to have another go to enter into the challenge. It is one of my favourite techniques and one the ladies of my class always enjoy, because until your project has dried and you turn it over, if you can be patient enough to wait, you never know what it is going to be like - it's always a surprise.
White and black card stock
Acetate
Stazon ink
D - Dragonfly Botanical stamp from The Stampman
Purple mesh and lilac grosgrain ribbon, 3 purple gems and four brads
Tumble Glass, Dusty Concorde and Peeled Paint DI
A secret ingredient - not Glossy Accents - see

Hope you enjoy the video Mynn - thanks for giving me this technique to play with - love it!

haven't done this technique for ages Caz, used to love it, love that you used the dragonfly stamp which is one I used to use for the technique, the youtube link you give doesn't work by the way so I'm off to Technique Tuesday to have a look ( are you going to Harrogate show by any chance?)
ReplyDeleteSadly no for Harrogate, wish I was we could have met for coffee. I copied the You tube addy and pasted in the top bar and it took me to Sheena no problem, give it another try Joan.
DeleteThis is beautiful Caz. Love the soft colours in the fab background - and what a gorgeous stamped image.

SO glad to see you at TTT, Caz! LOVE this gorgeous take--did you use mulberry paper??? LOVE it! Totally gonna have to try that twist on it! This is beautiful! Thanks for joining us at Technique Time Tuesday! HUGS and have a great rest of the week! :) Mynn xx
ReplyDeleteHi Mynn, No, not mulberry paper, after adding the secret ingredient, crumpled tissue paper, one layer, then a second to soak up any liquids, from a paper tissue hankie box. Caz
Deletethis is beautiful such a lovely image and background you have created xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Caz. I have the Klear too for this technique and it's on my desk ready if I have time this month x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Caz! I love the dragonfly image you have used and the mesh at the bottom really accents your card nicely! Thanks for sharing with us at TTT. :)
ReplyDeleteCaz this is just beautiful! The dragonfly stamp was perfect for our technique! I'm so happy you joined us for the TTT challenge! I hope you will join us again soon.

ReplyDeleteI love your card. Thank you for the great info about how you made the card. I found it really useful and allowed me to try the Caught in crystal challenge.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and beautiful way to describe the technique. I used Klear floor wax too lol, I think the rest of the DT thought I was a bit nutty, which is true, when I said about the floor polish but it was what I used too.
ReplyDeleteA really gorgeous creation. Thank you so much for playing along with my challenge this month at Technique Time Tuesday Challenge Karen x
Beautiful card, fabulous use of the technique, you are obviously an expert on this. I think dragon flies (and butterflies) are perfect for caught in crystal. Thanks for joining us at TTT
