Dragonfly Dreams - Masculine

Hello, welcome to my blog. Today we begin our new challenge at Dragonfly Dreams. We, the design team, on a rota each choose a challenge and this month it is my turn. I always find making cards for male persons, of any age, are easier for me to do. My choice then for June is                #201 Masculine. To see the design team's inspiration please visit the blog. Happy card making.

I first made my DL from an A4 sheet of white cardstock. Measured when folded it is 8" x 4". I added a mat of blue crackled paper. I die cut 5 silver Mirri circles, then added the 5 circles I had cut from a Hunkydory Pocket pad of Sporty Guys. Most guys enjoy either watching or taking part in a sport. Finally I die cut a 'Happy Birthday' adhered to the centre of the card. Take care.

The Male Room -The Outdoors

Hi, I am so excited to let you all know I have been accepted onto the Design Team at The Male Room. I love making male cards, maybe because there are more males in my family. Congratulations, waving a fond 'Hello' to all of my fellow new members to The Male Room.

For my first project , the challenge is #211 The Outdoors. I began with an 8" x 4" white card. I added a copper coloured Mirri card for the mat. I added a paper with lots of small leaves as the layer. Using a few circle dies, I cut 3 sportsmen from a Hunkydory Pocket pad - 'Sporty Guys'. These were framed with the same copper Mirri card.  Hunkydory vertical greeting die cuts were also added. I hope you have fun making your challenge card for The Outdoors. I look forward to viewing them.

For  my first design team card, I thought Oh! my Favourite Stamp? I have so many stamps and So many of them could be classed as favourites, I'm sure there are many of you who enjoy stamping are feeling the same. Which do I choose? I decided to make it easy on myself and I chose my latest stamp purchased. It was created by the marvellous Andy Skinner and is called 'Blowing Bubbles' I began with a 7" x 5" white card, I cut a piece of white smooth card to fit on a black mat. I then blended blue and yellow DIs from Ranger . I stamped using Versafine Claire - Nocturne ink. The sentment is with the stamp. I blended with the same blue ink around the edges, added the piece to the black card. Using a Blue Promarker's chisel end I dedged the white card, finally  adding  the pieces as one. I hope you enjoy creating your card with your Favourite Stamp.

Add Texture with Dry/Heat Embosing

Hello, thanks for taking the time to visit. Today we begin a new challenge a Make My Monday. Melissa has chosen #279 Add Texture with Dry/Heat Embossing. .To see the inspirational creations by the design team please visit the blog.

I began by embossing a tan piece of card, using a bark design embossing folder. I then swished it over with a DI Gathered Twigs ink pad.. This took some time to dry naturally. Meanwhile I created the decoupaged squirrel from a Hunkydory kit. To complete the card, I added the embossed card onto a dark brown card as a mat, then this was added to a 6" white card. A paper strip added to ground the squirrel and the sentiment were finally added. Have fun embossing your card/project.
