Colour Inspiration
This week,at Make My Monday, brings us to the end of our monthly FLORAL theme with a colour inspiration photo, aren't the colours just gorgeous - Pink, Green and White. I have enjoyed the floral theme, so appropriate to end on such a pretty challenge. Thanks to Suzi B for her choices they are been wonderful challenges. For my card, again I made a square card, I randomly stamped on two pieces of green paper to form the background. Added a piece of very pretty satin and organza ribbon. I stamped the image using a Memento black ink with a Kay Carley design stamp available from The Stampman. I used Promarkers to colour in the image, matted onto light and darker green card. Added a few pink gems for a touch of bling. A simple but I hope you agree a very pretty card. I am looking forward to visiting you to see your creations, there were some wonderful flowers and grasses last week, difficult to choose the Top 3 once again.

D - is Dry Embossing
Isn't time moving fast, I was so busy organising a Workshop yesterday, I forgot it was the Friday to have a new challenge at the Alphabet Challenge on to letter D - Dry Embossing, time to get out your embossing folders or embossing tools. Please pop over to have a peek at the lovely samples from the girls on the DT, there are lots of variations to inspire you. i chose to use a new embossing folder with butterflies and flowers, super for spring and summer cards. I first stamped direct on my white card with a Kay Carley stamp from The Stampman, coloured it with Promarkers. I embossed the frame, brushed it over with Tumbled Glass TH Distress Inks, cut out the centre to make the frame, added 3 d foam pads to raise it slightly from the white card. I added a few flowers and made a small concertina butterfly. Many thanks for commenting on my blog, I always look forward to visiting and commenting on your entries. Welcome to my latest follower Jackie aka Bottledolphin, a long time friend from Do Crafts, who I have had the pleasure of meeting.

Give us an inch x 3 please?
This week, at Try It On Tuesdays, it's time for our 'Wild Card' or even 'Wild Project', because it doesn't have to be a card, I jumped in to choose Inchies. We are trying to get both novices and experienced crafters to try or have another go at different techniques as the weeks pass by. Not everyone enjoys making inchies but for me they provide an interesting way to produce a different type of card, so please do have a go. Janet has said there will be a surprise prize for the winner, so good luck to everyone who joins in. To create my card, I first cut 9 x 1" squares of white mountboard. To reduce the brightness of the white I coloured 4 squares with Antique Linen and five squares with Old Paper. I then stuck them with temporary glue dispenser onto a piece of card, I stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black, heat set it. I then coloured the leaves with a green pencil. The flowers were coloured with Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey, used as a watercolour. Later when dry I covered the petals with Glossy Accents to give the glazed effect. I used white glitter and a gold Sakura pen for the small additions on the pattern. The stamp used is from a Kay Carley Funky Flowers set available from the Stampman. When all was dry, I removed from the temporary position and seperated the tiles. They were then placed on a black piece of card. Matted onto a piece of paper from my stash and a ribbon added. Hope you have fun with this month's technique, I look forward to visiting your blogs.
