Mother's Day or Special Lady

This week, we at My Time To Craft, would like to see you make a project/card for a Special Lady in your life or if your fortunate a Mother's Day card, for here in the UK it will shortly be Mother's Day. I recently purchased a 6 inch square pad of Papermania Parisienne papers from the Capsule Collections. I fell in love with these papers, as did the ladies at my card making class, below I have added a selection of some of the cards which were made at a class. For this card I used the following.~~~~
Plain White and Navy card stock
£ sheets from the Capsule collection of Parisienne papers.
Dragonfly stamp from Sheena Douglas on card and vellum
Flower from Chloe stamps, stamped twice with a large pearl stone added.
Cream lace
Greeting stamp and die from Go - Kreate.
I hope my card has helped you to go ahead and make a card for your Special Lady.
As mentioned - completed homework cards from a recent class. Didn't they do well?

Let It Snow

This week at Creative Corner the theme for the challenge is 'Let It Snow'. It always looks so picturesque, when it first falls, kids can have so much fun playing in it. Living in the North of England, over the years I have seen more of my fair share of the white stuff, I have struggled walking miles in it to get to work, when neither cars or public transport can beat it, but I still fall for the romantic sound of it all, Let it Snow (not please  here at home until the earliest Christmas Eve - thank you).  Here is my card,  I used a DI Iced Spruce  over a Stamps Away snowflake mask, added some punched out snowflakes to add a little sparkle.
Using Versamark I stamped an Inkadinkadoo snowman, I've had him for maybe 8 years or more, added fine detailed white embossing powder, then heat embossed. The greeting is from a Chloe Stamps.

W - White on White

Here we are again, at Alphabet Challenge up to the letter W- which is Winter White chosen by Lesley.  All the work has to be white. It doesn't have  to be a card, if it is, it doesn't have to be Christmas, mine is for a Wedding Anniversary.
I used a Spellbinders M-Bossibilities folder for the embossed pattern, secured a piece of organza and satin ribbon with a bow. The flowers are from the small poinsettia flower by Chloe Stamps, heat embossed with Wow! Silver Bells E.P. The greeting is an old one from my stash.  I look forward, once again in visiting your blogs. I hope you have fun and will try the challenge. Lesley and the Design Team will be popping in and commenting on your entries, but we are taking a short break for the Christmas holidays. We will be returning on Friday 4th January. 2013. New Baby

At My Time To Craft this week the challenge is New Baby. I am currently making some New Baby cards for my class on Friday, so thought I would just pop one in for the challenge. I have used a lovely stamp set from Stamps By Chloe, of a Onesie, Bib and Bootees. I stamped them onto a piece of paper from my stash with very small rosebuds on. I improvised the washing posts, using a branch from a bird set of stamps, used a grass stamp at the front and a leaf stamp from a Tapestry Peg stamp set. The Baby Girl, is a stamp I picked up forever ago for pennies and this is the first time I've used it. The main image is matted onto pink glitter card. The two larger roses are also available from Chloe, the three small roses are from E Bay.

For this week at CD Sunday Challenges it was Christine's turn to choose the theme, she chose Exotic Birds and Blooms. The DT have created some wonderful cards to inspire you. Please pop over to the main blog to check out the rules and their fabulous cards. Remember, to be able to be judged to be in the Top 3 you must use something from a CD, anything from  a small element, up to all of the card, please let us know which CD/CDs you have used. I made my card using backing paper and 3 images from Joanna Sheen Oriental Dreams CD. I used Chloe's Small Poinsettia flower stamp to stamp out 6 flowers onto  coloured vellum, with Versamark, then embossed with gold E.P. I added 3 red jewels to each flower centre. The sentiment is from my stash. Have fun everyone. I greatly enjoy visiting your blogs for you all produce some amazing cards and I look forward to viewing your inspiring cards.

Split Complimentary colours

Welcome to the fifth and final week of the Make My Monday colour wheel challenges.  This week we're focusing on a trio of colours known as SPLIT COMPLIMENTARY COLOURS.

Split complimentary colours are fun to play with.  You start with one colour, find its compliment and instead of using the compliment, use the two colours beside the compliment.  Mynnette has chosen the split complimentary colour scheme of fuscia, green, and yellow for you to create with this week.  White and cream are your acceptable neutrals again! You may stamp lined images and sentiments in either black or brown, but solid images should be stamped in fuscia, green, and/or yellow.

We at Make My Monday, have come to the last of Mynnette's colour challenges, I haven't found these challenges to be easy, but I have greatly enjoyed them. Some challenges are more challenging than others, but those are the ones I learn something from, so thanks Mynnette, for taking me out of my comfort zone, it has been fun. This the last week has been even more challenging, however, once I popped onto Less Is More and saw their Sketch theme for this week I knew immediately how to use the colours. I am also entering this card into the Less Is More challenge, please note the above girls, not my normal colours, but different and fun to do.
I would like to say a personal farewell to Suzanne B who has recently left the DT team, you will be missed but I am happy to know we will be meeting each other around blogland.
We, Jacqueline the owner and the DT have decided to take the month of August as a Summer recess. This current challenge will last until we return, all entries will be commented upon and the winners will be announced on our return 6th September. I do hope we in the UK have a better remaining summer with some sun. Sorry this entry is so long, so much to say.
Stamps used - small flowers from Dreamees.
Butterfly from Chloe Stamps
Punch - X-cut     Papers from Melody Ross Lydia collection from Chloe Stamps

Flowers and Music

This week at Make My Monday we are continuing our FLORAL theme with the addition of MUSIC. You are obviously enjoying the Floral theme, there were some awesome cards last week, so difficult to choose the winners. For my card,  I decided to make a small card, I used a designer sheet for the background. Stamped the music sheet from La Blanche, I distressed the edges. The tulip is from a Stamps by Chloe, which was painted with Luminate paints and decoupaged. Ribbon and pink jewels added for texture and bling.  I look forward again to visiting new and old friends to see your creations of Flowers with Music.

New Life/New Beginnings

This being our last week of our Spring theme at Make My Monday, our challenge is for New Life or New Beginning,. this leaves many options open for a spring card. Please do take a look at the blog for the DT have made some super cards to inspire you. I decided on a New Beginnings, with a wedding congratulations card. I thought maybe a new beginning for either a second marriage or it could be even suitable for a civil partnership wedding. My touch of spring are the new branches bearing fruit and the small white flowers.
The heart stamp is from Chloe Stamps. The sentiment is one from my stash, identity unknown. Your Spring, Spring cards last week were fantastic, I greatly look forward to seeing your last interpretation of our Spring Theme, which has given us all a fresh outlook leading into a beautiful beginning of spring over the last month.

Week 11 - Kingdom of the Netherlands Postcard Challenge

I'm late this week, I normally manage to add my postcard on a Friday but life has taken over from the fun time. I know it isn't a problem, we have till next Friday really but I hate being late, one reason being, I resist the temptation to look at others entries for the week, until mine is finished and uploaded, I would otherwise maybe not enter mine, for there are so many talented artists who are taking part in Darcy's 52 week, this being Week 11 of the Postcard Challenge. The Netherlands bring back many happy memories for me. My husband and I and two friends spent a wonderful weekend in Amsterdam and a seaside resort, touring various places en route. We visited a diamond merchant's and my darling husband bought for our Pearl Anniversary, a pearl and 2 diamond, platinum ring, which incidentally cost a lot more than the whole holiday put together and then some. I tried on clogs, tasted cheeses, visited tulip fields,  windmills, dykes, a wonderful time spent with good company.

I water coloured the background of the card, the tulip stamp is from Chloe Stamps which I embossed with Wow! gold embossing powder, then painted with Mica powders. I have a crown to represent the Royal family, the national flag, the stamp is a commemorative stamp of their famous painter Van Gough. Thanks to everyone who visits and makes comments. I am now off to load this, add it to my  extra page, and then later this evening I will be able to relax and visit everyone (I hope).
