#55 Let's Pretend

I am so happy and releived to be back to my crafting. Due to being very poorly I haven't been around for almost three weeks. It is so good to be back. I have sent my apologies to all of the Design Teams I belong to, I have so missed being part of the challenges, but I am back. Yippee.!
To get us started at Cardz 4 Guyz, we have a challenge from Kim, the choices from this challenge are so varied. LET'S PRETEND. Got your thinking caps on, it can be a faux technique, or you could be pretending to be someone and dress up, anything is possible when you pretend.  The Design Team have again come up with some amazing inspiration, please pop over to see their work.  Returning from being sick I decided to try a new technique for me, which I found at Splitcoast Stampers,
there is a lovely video of Melissa Banbury for a faux leather technique.
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/fauxstampedleather/
Thank you so much for this Melissa I am pleased with my first attempt but I now can see where I can improve, which I will be trying the next time, for I greatly enjoyed the technique.
I used these stamps - Fir Trees and the flying owl - Sheena Douglass and tress from Elusive Images.
All the colouring has been achieved using Tim Holtz Distress Inks,
I hope you will have a try either with a faux technique there are so many available, or your project could be of dressing up as long as it is  MASCULINE , we will be thrilled to see it.

Autumn Leaves

For the next two week's at Ruby's Rainbow Challenge # 89 will be Autumn Leaves. I hope you will be popping over to the blog to se the wonderful inspiration from the Design Team. Autumn is my second most favourite season, the colours are so vibrant and interesting. For my card, I added with dimensionals a white decorated square onto a square card. For the smaller square, I added DI to one edge only, starting with Scattered Straw, through various autumnal colours ending at the edge with Vintage Photo. I added some brown and cream twine. The leaves were created by randomly adding and blending numerous autumnal Distress Inks to a piece of scrap card, once completley blended and dry, I stamped 3 leaves with a stamp from Sheena Douglas Leaves stamp set, I used Black Soot and embossed with clear embossing powder to give a super shine to them. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I look forward to visiting you and hope you enjoy creating your Autumn Leaves.

Water

Hi, for this week at Cardz 4 Guyz, the theme is Water. There are some amazing inspiring projects over on the blog, from the Design Team and the Guest Designers, which show there are so many ways you can add water to your project. I love my underwater stamps from Sheena Douglass, so this was another way I could put them into action. I was inspired by a card on Pinterest from the Sheena Douglass team, this is my version of the card. I used both the Hidden Stars and Underwater Angels stamp sets. Salty Ocean, Broken China, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks were used.
Kraft card and Stampendous Fine Detail White embossing powder for the embellishments. I look forward to visiting everyone of you who enter the challenge. I hope you have a happy week.
