Challenge #16 -- TIME

Challenge #16 at Cardz 4 Guyz has been chosen by Jan, who decided upon TIME. This is always a popular topic for male cards so we are hoping for a good turnout of entries at the main blog. Please do pop over to see the Design Teams samples for you can't help but be inspired to go off and start planning your project. Last week I added on a scrapbook page for the Wheels challenge in an attempt to let all who visit us know we will accept anything which has been created with paper, this includes MDF and the remainder of altered art materials. I am following this on this week with my selection of gifts for a guy.
Let me introduce you to them one by one.

Fat-Tastic Tuesday- Autumnal Colours

This week at Fat-Tastic Tuesday - where it is "Hip to be Square " 4 inches square to be exact - I was asked to choose the topic , I know it's not original but I do love the colours of Autumn, anything goes as long as you colour with Autumnal Colours. I first tore a piece of paper and masked over the centre of the card. I coloured my 4 " card using distress inks, then brushed over with mica powders. Used different leaf stamps, using Versamark, stamped over the mica powder which lifted some off leaving an impression. I again stamped leaves with Versamark, immediately adding another colour of mica powder. I then removed the paper, and using Walnut Stain I stamped the quotation and a few more leaves. I so enjoy playing with techniques and find experimenting with them on 4 inch square card rewarding. I write the technique on the back and store them for reference in my fat- book. Looking froward to visiting you next week, don't be afraid to experiment it can be fun, a learning experience and a pleasure.

Fat Page with Gems

This week at Fat-Tastic Tuesday we are setting you the challenge of creating a 4 x 4 inches project for Anything Goes with Gems.  I chose an art Deco lady from Debbie Moore stamps, combining art Deco corner stamps, a little Zentangle around the circle and of course some glitter and red gems. I look forward to see how you add your gems to your designs over the next week. I have made a Fat Page for my Book, but you can make any 4 inch square project you wish. An important requirement is to please have fun.

Flowers at Fat - Tastic Tuesday

Hi everyone, this week at Fat Tastic Tuesday Challenges, where it is Hip To Be Square - our challenge is FLOWERS. You can use any medium, any technique, anything goes as long as you combine FLOWERS.  Now I am sure we all love flowers, they say they are the most popular images on cards. I have used a Joanne Sheen stamp designed by Jane Shasky called Sweet Memories. I used Promarkers to colour the stamped image and Distress inks to colour the edges. The small 'All My Love' is from a free set of clear stamps with a magazine.

Back to Skool

Stampin for the Weekend are challenging us with Back to School. During this month I am involved in a Fat Page swap where the topic is also Back to School. This is the Fat Page ( 4 inch square project)  I made for my partner. The main stamp is from Crafter's Companions of the boy, I extended the school wall, added a wall poster from Crafty Individuals. Maybe I have partaken in a stamper's sin by adding some sticker books, but this was only to add a little touch of something to depict learning. All coloured with Promarkers.

Anything But A Card

Now for something different at Make My Monday, we would like to see ANYTHING BUT A CARD.
I host two Fat Pages Stamping Swaps and am also a member of a NEW Design Team for a Fat Tastic challenge blog. Interested? Do you want to know more?  Then watch this space for there will be some exciting news later today . This is my fat page for the Do-Crafts Fat Page swap organised on the ATC Forum, it was for the theme of Childhood Memories. I used a lovely stamp from Joanna Sheen by Faye Whittaker called Bucket and Spade. The birds are from Inkylicious. I coloured everything with DI Mustard Seed and Broken China in a watercolour format.
Below is another Fat page I have made for Stampers UK a Yahoo group with a current Fat Page swap, this one was for an  Oriental/Asian theme. The stamps are from The Stampman - Non-Sequitor stamps. I again used Promarkers to colour the stamped images. You may be wondering, what are Fat Pages, if you want to know more please click on the Fat Pages Page on my page bar above. I look forward to visiting you to see what you have made instead of a card.

C - Coveted papers- Alphabet Challenge

Moving along with the Alphabet at Alphabet Challenges we are up to letter C -  has chosen Coveted papers, you know the ones you bought, you smell them, stroke them, admire and covet them. Had them for ages and have not used them all up or even started to use them. Now is the time, come on give it up. No better time than now to make a project, maybe even one for yourself so you can still keep the papers. These are my papers, the last I possess in a Crafty Individual Background Papers Book 1.

I am hosting a Fat Page Swap on a new Yahoo group called Stampers UK where we are having lots of fun, with various forms of swaps which must involve stamping. I needed to make a Book Cover to hold the Fat Pages I will receive from the wonderful crafters in the group who are taking part in the swap. What better than my coveted papers, then I can keep them for myself. Well they are my last 4 sheets. Here is my book
I decided to also use some coveted metal corners, a metal butterfly and an antique looking label holder.  If you don't know what Fat Pages are, you'll find details and a few pictures here.
