Shaker Card

Hello, thanks for your visit, I appreciate
the time you took to visit.  Today we begin a new challenge
at Back to Basics and Beyond for the next two weeks.
we have #24 Shaker Card.
I would love for you to pop over to the blog for the few
details and of course to see the inspiration from the DT.
I recently went to a Stamparama show at Harrogate.
Even though the morning crowds were very busy,
I had a marvellous day, I forced myself to buy loads of
wonderful stamps, including the Bee Happy set from Hobby Art.
Inside my shaker are 3 stamped and fussy cut bees and
a number of gold coloured gems/
I added glossy accents on the bee on the honeycomb.
If this is your first shaker card, enjoy, take your time,
the results are such great fun.

over on the blog, shame to miss them.
I call my card 'Bird and the Bees'.
The background stamp is called  Funky Flowers and
the Bird is Funky Bird, both by Hobby Art Ltd.
The bees are from a set by Indigo Blu stamps.
i stamped the flowers directly onto the card, then stamped
extra elements of the stamp to fill in the background.
I created a frame around the card, raised on 3d foam stickers.
I used Broken China DI  blended on the background.
All flowers, the bird  and bees were coloured with Promarkers.
Greeting from my stash.

#40 - Photo Inspiration & DT Call

We are being sponsored this week by

This week at Addicted to Stamps and More we are challenging you to create a project using the above photo to inspire you. Please pop over to our blog where you will find some wonderful creations from the DT.
The card below is one I have made. I am truly no artist but with these stamps from Hobby Art you can at least pretend you are a water colour painter.
I used most of the stamps from Coastal Wildlife and a few from Coastal Scene-it. I mainly used Distress Inks as a water colour paint, the chair is a stamp by Mary Hughes. I am looking forward to checking in on your creations to see how you have interpreted the photo, remember all we need is an interpretation, but most of all have fun and enjoy what your doing.

A - Anything with Wings

Wow! here we are at Alphabet Challenge starting off once again with the letter A - Jan has chosen something for us which gives  a wide choice to choose from  -Anything with Wings.  I was so lucky to recently purchase a few Hobby Art Ltd Stamps, my card is made from stamps from the Flypast set. My son was in the RAF for 12 years so it  is appropriate to me, plus I enjoy scene building with stamps, so these are very suitable. I coloured the sky with Tumbling Glass and a little Blue China - TH Distress Inks, the remainder are coloured with Promarkers. I know I should have a white ring on the RAF insignia but I din't have a white pen when I coloured it in. I do look forward to visiting you during this challenge to see what you have chosen for Anything with Wings, please have fun.

Less Is More - Houses

(2nd. Post today)
It's been a while since I had the time to enter into the wonderful CAS blog Less Is More. Congratulations to Mandi and many good luck wishes on your new venture of entering into the retail world. Welcome to Chrissie's new helper, Jen, I am sure you will have great fun working alongside Chrissie during Mandi's sabbatical.  This week the theme is Houses - and it is One Layer Week, I actually prefer the one layer week, a case of stamp it and colour it. The houses and toadstools on each end are from Lavinia Stamps and the fairy is from Sheena Douglass Hidden Fairies set. The greeting is from a Hobby Art Greeting set.  All coloured with Promarkers with the obligatory glitter for fairyland.

CAS at Addicted to Stamps & More

This week at Addicted to Stamps and More we are challenging you to make a Clean and Simple project. I greatly enjoy covering a white space with coloured inks, and yet I can also feel equally creative by leaving a lot of white space, which I'm told for many is the difficult part. One of my favourite stamping techniques is the Resist Technique, which I used on a piece of card, then adhered to the main card. I then embossed two lines to help the coloured card to stand out. I have a tutorial for this technique on my Tutorial blog  here. I stamped the butterfly first with a blue DI then with a yellow one, to give it a reverse colour from the panel. I have two friends who are currently poorly so am off to make another card. I greatly enjoyed visiting and commenting on the Halloween cards last week, lots of ghoulish fun, I am sure your CAS creations will be wonderful, I love to see  and learn from others creations.
Butterfly stamp - Freebie with Craft Stamper magazine.
