Cardz 4 Guyz #94 Numbers

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog. For the next week at
Julie has chosen for us
NUMBERS
We would love to see some different types of projects
but if your needing to make a card with a number on it then that will be
just as exciting for us. Please pop over to check the amazing
projects from the DT.
For my project I made a scrapbook page.
All the papers and the actual design were created by my
scrapbooking mentor Jennifer at Wear Crafts where I
go to enjoy the friendship, fun and creating once a week.
Jen loves to give us lots of fussy cutting, so yes, I did cut out all of those
balloons form a scrapbook sheet.
This was perfect for my grandson Matthew to welcome
his 12th birthday.
I hope you enjoy making your project as much as I did.

Cameras/Photos

The challenge for the next week at Cardz 4 Guyz is Cameras or Photos, combination of both, basically anything to do with photography. I recently made this 5 x 5 inches concertina album for my card class. As the challenge is open for all aspects of papercrafating, then small books, scrapbook pages are ideal entries. The booklet holds some snaps of some of the events of 2014, the reverse side has been kept for later in the year events, in total it will hold ten pictures of two of my grandsons, brothers Matthew and James. These small albums are perfect to keep. I imagine handing, half of a pile over to each of them when they reach the age of 18.

Buttons and Ribbon at MMM

Already it is the last Monday in November, for Suzanne B's last challenge, at Make My Monday, she has chosen for you to use up some more stash with Buttons and Ribbons. We often say we are open to all forms of projects, not just cards, so for a change I have created a scrapbook page with two of my grandsons. I am always more thoughtful about using flowers for boys but whilst they are this young I think I can get away with it. I added buttons for the centres of the flowers, through which there is threaded a piece of ribbon. They were both so reflective and quiet watching the water, a rare moment to be captured.
It has been so nice to have Suzanne along with us again, our fellow past team mate, who I still miss.  We have also been thrilled to have Avril - Mrs. B's Addiction along too as  a Guest designer, she has created some wonderful samples for us, I hope we see you back again as a GDT. So ladies it is now your turn to create something for our challenge. If you pop over to the main blog I am sure you will find some inspiration from the Guest designers and the design team. Once again I look forward to visiting you. Many thanks for the lovely comments you gave last week for my vellum card, which are greatly appreciated.

Autumn Scrapbook Page

I am so thrilled to have won the August challenge of Flowers at Addicted to Stamps, thanks to the design team.  This is my entry for the September challenge which is AUTUMN. The last two days here in UK it has rained and been cold enough for winter, never mind autumn. I feel we missed having summer, I'm sure hoping we aren't going to miss Autumn too. Back to my LO page, please say Hello to Jordan, my second oldest grandson, though I admit this was taken some years ago when he was much younger for he will shortly be 17. The pocket at the top right holds a tag with the journalling of who, where, what, when and why, which I think are essential on a scrapbook LO. The leaves have been mostly stamped onto handmade(bought) papers, to give a mixture of textures and colours, with a few fancy buttons scattered around. The Definition of Autumn - on the tree trunk is from DCWV (Die Cuts With a View).

Flowers - Scrapbook Challenge

Second Post Today
At Addicted to Stamps  monthly Scrapbook Challenge #3 is 'Flowers'. Here is a LO I made of my youngest grandson. There are several layers of papers, all of the flowers were cut from a full size scrapbook page. I added buttons to match the colours on the page. At the left of his picture there is a hidden tag, you hold the button and pull, it has all the details of his birth. Of course there had to be some stamping so I have used a blue ink pad and stamped with a favourite La Blanche scroll stamp.
I am also sending this to Happy Scrappers - for their Buttons and Bows challenge. I have lots of buttons, but only one knot, bows don't look right for a boy. Hoping it is acceptable. Keep the UK flag flying girls.

Best of British

Since I joined CD Sunday's DT this is my first choice for the weekly topic - Best of British-. so many ideas to choose from, so many British events have recently taken place, showing how well we can put on a show. I had some photos sat in my 'Pictures' since last October of when my son and his family visited London. Along with papers and some embellishments from the Debbie Moore shabby Chic - London CD, I created this LO for a scrapbook.. At the top left corner is a stamp from Stampendous coloured with Promarkers. Please visit the main blog, for the team have made some wonderful examples to inspire you, which show the Best of Britain. I do hope you enjoy this theme. I look forward to visiting your blogs once again.

The Little Chef-Bradley

For the next two weeks at Alphabet Challenge it is the choice of Tammy from the DT who chose KITCHEN. We would like to see any type of project with either food or drink as the main focus on the project. I decided it was time I got back to scrap booking the 8 x 8" scrapbooks I have for each of my 6 grandchildren. this is of Bradley, way back in 2005, tossing the first pancake he had helped Grand dad to make. It landed safely in the pan. I made the Chef's hat by folding white paper, the other small embellishments were acquired from the kitchen in my large dolls house. I look forward to seeing your Kitchen projects over the next few weeks. Have fun.

House and Home

I finished this Scrap book LO today, took a picture, I wondered if there would be a challenge it would fit, I am happy to say over at The Rainbow Lady, the challenge is for House and Home, now a dolls house may be lateral thinking, out of the box, but I'm sure it fits the challenge. The story of the House Painters  is on the piece of paper, which I have printed below, because it's too small to be read, even when enlarged.  I started with a 12 inch sq. piece of Kraft card and spritzed it, splashed it, made a good old mess of it with various inks. The title is made from a sheet of alphabet letters for scrap bookers, matted onto red card.  The paint pots are downloads from the internet. I realise not all my followers and visitors are into scrapbooking, I wonder, why not? I hope you still enjoy your visit and I thank you for all of your very kind comments.
If your interested to see more of my Dolls House Properties why not visit Cazro's Mini Properties.
'''I bought myself a small dolls house off E-bay for £8. My intention was to convert it into a Witch's Cottage. Once I had told James all of my plans. without any discussion or negotiations I suddenly realised that the house belonged to James. It was HIS Witch's Cottage, so, to be fair, to Matthew, (his brother), I gave him the choice of a few properties, and he asked for the Pub~ The Nag's Head. On one very hot day in the school summer holidays 2011, we had planned to paint the houses. Appropriate old clothes and hats were worn. Paint put into tubs, off ready to paint. Matthew had decided he didn't like the red bricks on the pub and wanted to paint it white. James and I planned to cover the house in grey, then to add splashes of other paints to make it look real dingy. Granddad helped to paint the difficult bits inside the cottage. Matthew had a great suggestion to add a Broomstick landing pad on the roof, like a helicopter landing, and James said not with a H, it would have to be a B. A great time was had by all.''

Make My Monday Butterfly and/or Dragonfly

This week, at Make My Monday we are taking our last look at NATURE with Butterflies and or /Dragonflies. The choice is yours. I would like to thank Fliss who chose the theme and January's weekly subjects, I have had a great time, which I'm sure you have too. Don't forget Fliss has ofered a prize for the overall winner in January. I am often saying you don't have to make a card, it can be any papercraft project you wish, so I thought it was time I made something other than a card. I am going to challenge myself to provide one scrapbook page each month. Hopefully Scrapbooking will become more popular.
This L.O (Lay Out) is part of a 2 page set, where my journalling panel is, with details of the day. We had taken some grandchildren to a local park one day last year. I used paper with dragonflies to match the colours. I added felt flowers and made some dragonflies from stamping and colouring. Some dragonflies were made with a dragonfly punch. One of the first things I learnt with Scrapbooking is COLOUR - look at your photographs, what colour/s are predominet, then find the papers and card to suit. The title, for every page needs a title, was made on  Word  on my PC.
I am looking forward to visiting you over the next week for I am sure we will be seeing a lot of beautiful cards/projects with butterflies and or dragonflies. Have fun, pop over to see the wonderful samples from the Design team, lots of inspiration for you, in our last week of NATURE. I wonder what February has in store?

Hot Wheels

Apart from some DT work, you will have realised by now, if you've been regularly popping in, I've been playing with Scrapbook LO pages this week.  All because my son recently sent me load of photos which just shouted they wanted to be in a scrapbook. I checked out on Feline Playful anf found several interesting scrapbook blogs to enter into challenges. This page, Hot Wheels, I am entering into Sassy Lil' Sketches.

I thought this sketch was very interesting and different to anything I've made before, I am pleased with the result. Once I had decided on the title, I hunted for some wheels, to replace the bunting, then remembered, I have a penny farthing stamp which worked terrific. I then found a cheap old gold chain for them to be 'hung' by.
I stamped James, and printed the title on the computer.
Thanks for the terrific sketch ladies, I hope to join you again.

The Great Outdoors

Most crafters are asked at one time or another , "How did you get started?"  For me, I started with scrapbooking , I first saw it on TV and became hooked. I then moved onto ATCs and cards, but I keep going back to scrapbooking. With 6 grandchildren I always have something to record. I found this challenge blog for Scrapbooking sketches,  Stuck On Sketches. Sometimes getting the LO sorted is the longest process for me, so having a sketch is a great help, this one in particular I liked as soon as I saw it.
All of the papers I have used are from my craft stash, Hot Off the Press cardstock, Kraft card. A piece of webbing added for texture, I love to have some texture on my LOs. The birds were stamped, cut out and added to the page. Stamps purchased from E -bay. The title was stamped using the Ransome alphabet set from Royal & Langnickel.

All in the Title

Over at Lasting Memories this week, the challenge is to make the title an important part of the LO. which quickly allows the viewer to know what the page is about. I made my title by stamping the letters for the word 'Beach' with my Philadelphia foam alphabet stamps, the stamps used for 'At The' are from a set of See D alphabet stamps. The background is Bazzil card, chosen to tone in with the seaweed paper and aqua papers. I stamped a boat on the tag which explains the interest in the strange piece of seaweed. I added further shells by cutting these from a scrapbook page.

Fun in the Sun

We are challenging you to capture the sun with your free project today at Try It On Tuesdays  all the information along with some super work from the design team is on the TIOT blog. This being the third week in the month, you can enter any type of project as long as it represents the theme of - The Sun.
For my project, I felt the need to construct a scrapbook page. I used a tea plate and saucer to draw around for the centre of the sun,  played around until I had drawn the sun rays in different sizes,  cut out all of the papers and matting backgrounds. I stamped the title Fun In The Sun with Royal and Langnickel Ransom alphabet stamps. The papers are from the Sunshine Pack from Paprmania Capsule Collection.
Various elements added to the rays. The photo is of two of my grandsons enjoying the sun in Lanzarote.
I'm looking forward to seeing your sunny entries this week. Have some fun in the sun whilst your crafting .
I am also entering the LO into
Papertake Weekly challenge  -Here Comes the Sun
Stamptacular Sunday  -Fun in the Sun - the title has been stamped, please see above.

Anything Goes at Scrap and Stamp

At Scrap and Stamp this week, well, it's simply

Anything Goes , as long as some stamping is present. Let me introduce you to 'My Guy'.

The LO was all placed on a sheet of Kraft card, I randomly stamped a watch from a Paperartsy set. Added stips and blocks of colour. Stamped and distressed the masculine image in the bottom right corner. The centre section opens with the ribbon, to reveal photos of my guy at various stages in his life. I adore the stamped sentiment at the top of the first photograph, again from the Papertartsy set,

'Time can never take away our most precious memories.' Thanks girls for the opportuity to share this LO.

P.S. Delighted this project was chosen as the winner. Thanks again to the Scrap and Stamp blog.
