Hi everyone, this week at Cardz 4 Guyz Helen has chosen for the theme 'No Patterned/Designer Paper'. An opportunity to get out your inks, embossing folders, making a mess, if needed creating your own backgrounds or once again going clean and simple. I saw a technique on You Tube I wanted to try, it has partially worked but not as great a success as I hoped for. I adhered 3 strips of aluminium tape to a piece of white card, I smeared my Cuttelbug folder with Black Soot ink, embossed the prepared card, Most of the ink came off in the drying process. I don't think I'll be trying it again.
Materials used -
White, red and black card stock. Aluminium tape (DIY) Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, ribbon and black gems. The stamp is from a very old set from Tandastamps, stamped onto red card with Memento Black in pad.

C is for Country Flowers
It's time for week C at Alphabet Challenges and Jennifer has chosen for us Country Flowers. At this time of the year we are all hoping to shortly be seeing the spring flowers in full bloom. There is nothing nicer than seeing the country flowers in our fields and waysides, no matter which country we live in. For my card ~~~
Plain white scalloped card.
Lemon and black card stock
Yellow ribbon
Greeting - from my stash
The stamp, yes, it's only one stamp, bought bargain price at a craft event, no info on it.
Mustard Seed DI patted onto an acrylic small block, sprayed with water, the ink
stamped onto a piece of card, dried with heat tool. Stamped with black Memento ink onto the piece of
card. Such an easy yet effective technique. Experiment with different colours you can get some amazing results. Have you spotted just how straight my matting and layering is? I am so thrilled, for I just don't do straight, this was the first card I tried my new Perfect Layers rulers and they ARE perfect.

Fat-Tastic Tuesday- Autumnal Colours
This week at Fat-Tastic Tuesday - where it is "Hip to be Square " 4 inches square to be exact - I was asked to choose the topic , I know it's not original but I do love the colours of Autumn, anything goes as long as you colour with Autumnal Colours. I first tore a piece of paper and masked over the centre of the card. I coloured my 4 " card using distress inks, then brushed over with mica powders. Used different leaf stamps, using Versamark, stamped over the mica powder which lifted some off leaving an impression. I again stamped leaves with Versamark, immediately adding another colour of mica powder. I then removed the paper, and using Walnut Stain I stamped the quotation and a few more leaves. I so enjoy playing with techniques and find experimenting with them on 4 inch square card rewarding. I write the technique on the back and store them for reference in my fat- book. Looking froward to visiting you next week, don't be afraid to experiment it can be fun, a learning experience and a pleasure.
