Animals

Hello and welcome to my blog. Firstly I apologise for the delay, we should have published this challenge on Saturday 15th August. I am a few days late. My computer totally crashed and died on me on Thursday evening. Here I am with  a sparkling new computer, after many hours of stress and uncertainy, of having to dip into the savings meant for a few trips away to buy a computer. I really would have had doubts but I love the challenge blogs I organise, so hear I am. Still working my way through a few teething problems.
Our new challenge for the next month, at Sparkles Monthly is #203 Animals chosen by Samantha. To see the inspiration from the design team, please visit the blog.

For my card, I began with a white 6" card. I added a piece of black card for the main mat. Using an A5 set of Zebra stamps from Hobby Art, I stamped each part onto plain copyypaper, fussy cut them out then onto another piece of copypaper I played with them as if a jigsaw puzzle, arranging till I had my final design. I created the background onto white card iusing DI's then inked the stamps with Versafine, placing them as my oriaginal design. I added the  African artwork along the base of the card.  Thanks for your visit.

Hot Air Balloons

Hello, thanks for your visit. Today we begin a new challenge at Cardz 4, Guyz. It's my turn to choose and I love to see Hot Air Balloons flying over the fields near my home. The answer is NO. I have no desire to be on board any, never, never, but they do look amazing. so here we are #389 Hot Air Balloons. To see the design team's inspiration please visit the blog.

I began with a  white 6" card. I cut the right side of the front off, leaving a piece wide enough for the blue background, gold mirri and the Bookmark of a Hot Air Balloon from Hunkydory Bookmark Toppers. I placed a piece of acetate to fit on and over and the cat flap and main card, affixing with red tape. The background is a piece of blue sky and clouds from my stash, lucky find, and a page from a Hunkydory Little Book, - Planes, Trains and Automobiles., adhered to a plain blue piece of card.

A few of our team are taking a break, so here is a card, which I made a number of years ago.

Horticulture -Creating Gardens

Hello, welcome. today we begin a new challenge at Alphabet Challenges. Our challenge is H is for Horticulture - the science of creating gardens. Have fun. To see the inspiration from our design team, please visit the blog.

I began with a 6 x 4 inches piece of card. I splodged it with several neutral colours, dried it, then blended with a few Distress inks. Blue Skies

Hello and welcome to my blog, today at Cardz 4 Galz, we begin a new two weekly challenge. It is my time to choose the theme and I love to see #282 Blue Skies. To see the inspiration from the design team, please visit the blog.

The first card I have just photo'd prior to preparing this challenge. Leaving things to the last minute again, and I find my photo adjustments have let me down. As you can see with late night crafting and living in the very North of England,  normal light is insufficient for good photography, which is why I use a light box.
To make the card, I first found the piece of card with blue skies, in my stash. I added a silver Mirri mat to this. I fussy cut the bear in his aeroplane,  from a Hunkydory Little Book - Teddy Bears. I added a fussy cut piece of card to make the cut piece more firm. Using red d.s. tape I fixed the bear to a piece of acetate, then scored the acetate at the point of the fold over to the back of the Mirri card, again adhered with red d.s.tape. I glued several small birthday greetings. A Happy Birthday message and a small areoplane to the Blue Skies. I was thrilled with the movement, the image is floating or ? flying.

NEW made card, sorry my photo adjustments seem to not be working. I'll try to

get this fixed. In the meanwhile here is one I made a while ago for another challenge.

#213 Jobs or Progessions - The Male Room

Hello and welcome . Today we begin a new challenge at The Male Room. For the month of August our challenge is #213 Jobs or Professions. To see the inspirational creations by the design team, please visit the blog.

For the main card I used a 7" sq. white card. I added a pale blue mat finish card. Then added a sheet of blue/purple card with theatre lights and at the base a silhouette section of a cheering crowd. This page is from a paper pad from Hunkydory for Teenagers Backgrounds. My main topper is from a Little Book by Hunkydory, simply called Teenagers. From this I took three sheets of the page of the disc jockey, the chosen job for the challenge. #1 page was for the base background and pages #2 and #3 were die cut with alternating oval dies. I added layers of 3d foam, to lift each piece higher as they were added to complete the design od the disc jockey. In the photo he looks flat but you can see the varying oval shapes.I added the vertical dies for a Happy Birthday, also from Hunkydory. I hope you enjoy the challenge.

Feminine (MAWTT)

Hello and welcome to my blog. today we begin a new challenge at MAWTT -Moving Along With The Times- Carol has chosen the topic to be - Feminine-. To see the inspiration from the design team, please visit the blog.

This stamp has been a favourite of mine for some time, it's from the Daisy B creative company, which sadly is no longer in business. I do miss each and every member of the team. I began with a 6" white card. The mats are a piece of gold and then a piece of pink pearlised card.I  stamped the young lady and coloured her with Promarker alcohol pens. I added a shadow with a light grey Promarker pen. I addded glitter to the sunflower in the hat. Pretty pink gemstones and a sentiment die cut using pearlised pink card. I think this young lady epitomizes feminity. I'm looking forward to your Feminine creations.

Clean and Simple -Christmas

Hello, how are you?  thanks for your visit. Today at Sparkles Christmas Challenges we would like to see for our #187 challenge - Clean and Simple. to see the creative cards from our design team, please visit the blog.

I began with a 7 x 5 inches white scallop edged card. I will confess before I go any further, to the persons who require the clean and simple to be purely that to the letter. I started off, thinking that this is exactly as I expected for the challenge. however, as I went along, (My first time) I found it wasn't quite as simple as I thought it would be. It will be the next time I make it, because I learnt along the way, the does and the do nots. Confession over.

I die cut the two baubles, then die cut the aperture for them onto a piece of plain white card. Behind the two bauble apertures I added a piece of gold glitter card. I glued the die cut baubles onto the glitter card. I cut two strips from the glitter card for the ribbons and tied two bows, adding all these with glue to the card. I also added the die cut 'Peace' sentiment. I had wanted to raise this with 3d foam but only too late realised I shouldn't have glued the glitter paper to the base card, too late, so it is flat. I have also since this was photographed added some gold gems to the small sections on the baubles. More is more in my eyes with these baubles. Happy crafting

Summer Holidays (Pearly Sparkles)

Hello and welcome, the beginning of the month is a busy time for me, which I do enjoy. Today at     Pearly Sparkles we begin a new challenge for the month of August. I chose this month's challenge, I do hope you enjoy it. I chose 'Summer Holidays' which of course, is an open book, for we all enjoy our sumemr time in many ways.

The large stamp is 'The Big Wheel' from Picture This, sold by Nice Crafting in UK.  It is part of a series of showground/fairs entertaining rides etc. It took me several sessions to colour this, so many unseen interesting parts to do, but I did enjoy the peaceful time in doing it. I used Promarkers throughout with the additional back up of a fine pointed penciil. I added a background of a shadow with a grey Promarker, and a small amount of a sandy colour to ground it. The Admit One ticket is from my stash. Happy crafting.
