Use Warm Colours

Use It Tuesdays  this week have challenged us to use up some of our reds, oranges and yellows to warm up our winter days. I made this Fat Page for the Do Crafts Fat Page Swap I organise, for this month's theme, which is Words and Music. Being a Fat Page it measures 4" x 4" which I keep in a book. I used warm colours from the Distress Inks range from TH. The music stamp and the pretty violinist are from La Blanche. to add a touch of richness to the back and front I added a little of my own Pot Pourri mix of gilding flakes.

Use Your Scraps

Use It Tuesday are challenging us this week to Use Scraps - this fitted in so well with an idea I had to use up some small squares I had left over from another project using TH Shabby Chic paper. The Butterflies  and upper sentiment are stamped using Lyndsay Mason Tattered Butterflies set. The flowers and swirls are made using  Marianne dies.

An Old Button

Use it up Tuesdays is a lovely challenge blog, which I would join in more often if I had more time, don't we all say that at least once a day?  their main principle is, as it says, Use it up, we all have stash lying around forever. Well, this week they are going further and have asked us to use up TWO old  items from our stash. Oh! that could have been painful. I have managed though, my two old items are the beautiful old button from my button box, passed on from my mother,  along with the organza ribbon, from my ribbon box. I have some more recent touches, the Paris stamp and the Fran-tage, both from Stampendous.

Name That Song

Thanks again to Feline Playful i found another interesting challenge blog site, called CAS-ual Fridays Challenges. Even though I love to be messy, grungy and fill my pages, I also have great fun in keeping the cards simple and clean. The current challenge is Name That Song, I was inspired by the Walt Disney film Pirates of the Caribbean
the song "Yo Ho - A Pirate's Life for Me".
The main image is from a set of quirky stamps from Debbie Moore. The waves and galleon are from a pirate set by Tandastamps. I masked the card to create the sea by brushing on TH Distress ink Broken China, then stamped with Chipped Sapphire the waves. The galleon is a second stamping for I wanted it to be in the background and bot too strong. Thanks girls, I enjoyed this challenge, something really different.
I am also entering this card into the Uninked challenge at Use It Up Tuesdays, as this is the first time I have used this stamp.

Cards and More - A Sketch

This is my third post today so please check on Home Page or two items below. I am really enjoying sketch challenges, I wasn't so interested, until recently. I was looking for a sketch and  found, with the help of
Feline Playful an interesting blog with a lovely sketch, at  Cards und More, which has a Google  translate, very helpful ladies. Another interesting blog I found is Use It Tuesdays, now I along with many other crafters, have decided this year to use up our stash, it is amazing how much is accumulated, so this could become a useful practice, to use it up. Their challenge this week is to commemorate St. Patrick , by using GREEN on your card. therefore I have combined the two in this one card.
I used from old stash the background papers, I stamped with a golden oldie Lily of the Valley fairy stamp and used Promarkers to colour the image. added some glitter, of course, all fairies must have glitter added, and some pearls. A few swirls from  a Marianne die. Tied with a pretty ribbon. Again all old stash. I will add these two blogs to my favourite blogs on my Challenge Blog page here.
