T is for Try Something Different (Product/Technique)

My card is the result of the first time I have used a

Gelli plate, I used  acrylic inks and a texture stamp to create

the background. 

The silhouette stamp is by Inkylicious - Grasses. 

I used a white gel pen to add dots on the grasses'

tops and leaves.  I made a number of prints, but I have

a lot to learn and need to check up on a few more 

wonderful You tube videos. Thanks to all of the 

wonderful talented tutorial creators.

I have a 5" x 7" card. A double mat with 

black  and purple. 

I used a green, a purple and  mica green sprays.

the stamp by Inklicious was heat embossed.

White highlights added with a Gelli Roll pen.

Z is for Zesty Colours

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today we start 

a new challenge at Alphabet Challenges. 

We have once again reached the end of another

full alphabet, which means for the next two weeks we

are looking for Z for Zesty colours.

I have a 7 x 5" card. A black mat card.

 For the design I used several Zesty Distress inks

which were blended on the card. I used an

ink spray for the more vibrant zesty orange.

The stamp is Grasses from Inkylicious. The 

sentiment by Unicorn stamps from Polkadoodles.

background, I used stamps by Leonie Pujol for the
background. The foreground stamp is Poppy Lea
by Inkylicious, which I coloured with Glitter Pens.

I have used several Distress Inks to create the background.

I love this stamp from Inkylicious - Poppy Lea, which has been

exdtended though you can't tell where it was joined up.

I coloured the flowers with my new Leonie Sparkle Pens.

there is a lot of glitter shining on the card, though it never shows 

when photographed, such a shame.

 The amazing thing about Photo challenges is we can all see

something different, we can all be guided by what materials we have.

For my card, I used a black card to mat the main image.

I used TH Distress Inks Barn Door, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogony.

Stamped with Versafine Black ink. 

Stamps-  one of my mot favourite Inkylicious Poppy Lea.

Fairies

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog. Your very welcome.

Today we are starting a new challenge at Make My Monday

Our challenge for you is Fairies ......

So many different and wonderful fairies to see.

For my card, I used my Inkylicious brushes and pastel inks

to create the background. The fairies and all stamps below are

from Lavinia Stamps.  

The ivy stamp at the top is by Sheena Douglass.

Lightly brushed with DI Evergreen Bough and outlined with a 

White Sakura pen. Glitter is added around the fairies but 

you may not be able to see it. 

I'm sure you will enjoy this challenge, wishing you lots of fun.

Flower Power

Hello, welcome to my blog. Today is the first day of a two week 

challenge at Fantasy Stampers.   We would like to see some

Flower Power.

the details, we do require for you to use an inked stamp.

For my card,  I made a 6" square.  The background mat was

a white card, I blended the edges with DI Chipped Sapphire,

embossed with an Embossilicious E.F. Gently rubbed gold gilding wax 

across the raised embossed areas.

The main image piece was blended around a punched out moon shape

mask, with Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. 

The moon mask was removed. 

Stamped with Poppy Lea from Inkylicious.

Coloured the flowers and leaves with Promarkers. 

Sentiment added with a twine bow.

Mum's The Word

Hello again, for the next two weeks at Fantasy Stampers our challenge is Mum's the Word, we would like to see a suitable project to give for Mother's Day, or for a Special Lady in your life. We may no longer be fortunate to have our Mum's in our life but we will hopefully have a special lady we can share this day with. the Design Team have made some lovely designs for you to see.  For my card, I do like the combination of Kraft card and the colour blue. My background paper is left over from a previous challenge, it originated from a CD but I can no longer rememebr which. The stamped image is French Rose from Inkylicious, I love this stamp, it is so versatile. I coloured it with Promarkers. The butterfly is from Do -Crafts. I added lace, pearls, gems and glitter to embellish. Have fun, I look forward to visiting you. 

N is for Natural

For the letter N at Alphabet Challenges Sheena has challenged us to use something which is Natural, a piece of wood, shells, dried flowers, raffia, sand etc. anything which you think is suitable for your project. For my card the background paper is from LOTV 'Father Knows Best' paper pad,  I stamped a few grasses from My Paper World stamps, inked the edges with TH Vintage Photo. The image is Song Thrush from Inkylicious, brushed with Brushed Corduroy and Faded Jeans, matted onto a piece of Kraft card edged with Vintage Photo. The sentiment in the top left corner is from Creative Expressions - Birds stamp set. To complete the requirement of natural additions, there is hessian, a twig from my garden and a piece of broken shell. For The Birds

For the next two weeks at Ruby's Rainbow our challenge is 'For the Birds'.  I am sure this will be a popular chocie for their are many sources with birds available. Please do pop over to the blog to see the wonderful collection of so many different birds. I have had this stamp for ages and this is only the second time I have used it, note to self, must use more often.
Background created by blending TH Distress Inks - Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Shabby Sutters, Peeled Paint. Spritzed with water. Stamped with leaves from Sheena Douglas Leaves set, using the same colours I blended with plus a few with Mowed Lawn.
Embellished with stamped, cut out leaves from the same stamp set. Two pretty fancy buttons and lace from stash.
The main image is from Inkylicious - Birdcage 1 - background blened with Scattered Straw.

Bingo Board

It's been a while since I enjoyed a game of Bingo, but this is my kind of Bingo. When I first came across Craft bingo Boards I found them difficult now I find it so helpful, for it gives me 3 items I must include in my card, which leads me in a good direction, the rest as they say is left to your imagination. My Time To Craft

Sadly there comes a time in everyone's life when we need to provide a Sympathy card ~ 

we at My Time To Craft realise this form of card is probably one of the most difficult cards to create. I suppose my approach may be classed as being old fashioned. However,  I have a theory about Sympathy and Thinking of You cards. When making other cards, I suppose my aim is to convey, 'Look what I've done for you'. When making a Sympathy or Thinking of You card, my aim is to convey my message of condolences in a simple and understated way.  For this card I used~~~~~~~

R is for Roses

For the next two weeks at Alphabet Challenge we would like to see a project with R for Roses, chosen by Shaz. Now there won't so many last week who ventured into Quilts, but we are expecting a deluge with Roses for aren't these a very popular flower. I chose to use a new stamp from Inkylicious called French rose, I started off delicate then went mad with the Distress inks, well I do like a bit of grungy now and again. I used plain background card , designer paper from a Boho Chic pad, pearls, two metal corner embellishments and three yellow paper roses. Have fun everyone, I'll be visiting you over the next two weeks.

Sketch # 177

At Sunday Stamp and Sketch this week Anne-Marie has designed Sketch #177 for us, please pop over to the blog to see how the remainder of the DT have developed her sketch. Remember it can be any orientation you choose as long as the sketch is recognisable. I matted an embossed piece of sandpapered Core'dinations onto pink card, added a triangle of design paper with roses and leaves. My main stamped image is an Inlylicious stamp, - French Rose -  which I coloured with Distress inks, added some gold mix Frantage on the edges and on the main image. Embellishments added are a metal butterfly and Card Candy. I am looking forward to commenting on your entries, this is only my second time as a member of the Design Team so I am hoping you will enjoy my inspirational cards.

Mid Week Motivation at MMM

Every week on a Wednesday the Design Team member of Make My Monday, who chose the challenge theme provides you with a Mid- Week Motivation project to hopefully guide, instruct or simply inspire you. I decided to make 3 bookmarks where I have used the same new stamp but in different ways, hoping to give that inspiration if you need it.

The Bookmark on the LEFT is a simple Monochrome approach, using a white piece of card, and a black ink pad for the stamp. I have also added further interest stamping a few leaves from another set of stamps. I dragged around the outer edge with the chisel nib of a black marker pen. Added fibres and ribbons.

The CENTRE example shows how my adding pretty papers to your bookmark, you don't need to add any further colouring to the background. I have only coloured the birds, made a small flower using a stamp and again added fibres and ribbon.

The final bookmark on the RIGHT is more of a Vintage style, I coloured the background with TH Distress inks Old Paper, Frayed Burlap, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. All the stamping was done using a black ink pad. I added a piece of lace and a fancy button, along with the fibres and ribbon to embellish it.

Red, Yellow and Blue

Hi, we have a new Monthly theme starting this week here at Make My Monday.  All month long, our hostess, Mynnette, would like to focus on colour by  using the colour wheel.  For our first week, we'll be focused on PRIMARY COLOURS.  Primary colours are colours that cannot be created using other colours, but instead are used to create the many colours we have in our world.  This week we'd like to see creations using the three primary colours: RED, YELLOW AND BLUE. White or cream are the neutrals that are allowed in this challenge.  You may stamp lined images and sentiments in either black or brown, but solid images should be stamped in primary colours. Check out the wonderful examples from the Design Team and welcome to our GTD Buttons this month.

Being honest, I really wasn't sure what to do at first, then I started to put the brain in thinking mode instead of panic mode. What is blue? What is Yellow? What is Red? Yes, lots of answers but I went with my first thoughts. Blue - Sky, well it's supposed to be at this time of year, Yellow - Sand - I love the beach, and Red - a boat. The blue sky was created with Tumbled Glass, the sea with Broken China, Distress Inks, the sand with Mustard Seed DI and the Boat was stamped with Fire Brick Red DI

Midsummer Night's Dream

At Make My Monday for the next week we are entering into a dream world, our topic is A Midsummer Night's Dream, so you can make your project either of dreams, fairies or anything you believe fits in the topic  which is continuing Jacqueline's theme for the month of 'June and it's associated events'. I love to use this stamp which is from Bravura, she isn't really a typical fairy, more risqué than a pretty fairy. I first stamped the fairy, then masked her. I created the background with various DI from Ranger, a few sprays from Cosmic Shimmers, adding even more glitter here and there. I was pleased to achieve the mystical background I was aiming for. A few trees across the horizon. In the foreground a mixture of stamps were used. The last thing I did was to remove the mask and colour in the fairy with Promarkers, and even more glitter. A wonderful response last week, for a popular topic, it would be terrific to see as many fairies or dreamers this next week.
