Make Your Mark # 57

Challenge # 57 at Addicted to Stamps and More is Make Your Mark. What does that mean, well it means, anything you use which will make it's mark on your project. Water colours, alcohol pens, inks, paints, you get the idea.  For my project, I chose a favourite stamp, which I was lucky to purchase at a bargain price. You will all know now how much I love a bargain, it's a good excuse to buy isn't it? I used Promarkers to add the colour to the flowers.
Recipe
White and orange card stock
Background DP from aa hideaway pack
Penny Black stamp - Garden Poem
Greeting stamp, ribbon from my stash.
I look forward to visiting you to see what you have created this week, for our Make Your Mark Challenge.

#37 Make Your Mark

A slight change in our challenges are starting this week, at Addicted to Stamps and More, instead of splitting them into groups with numbers we will be continuing in numerical order from this week onward. Hence we seem to have jumped forward to #37 which is Make Your Mark - where you must use some form of marker pen, paints etc, more details on the main blog.
We are sponsored this week by

My project all started with a can of Shaving Foam, or in the US Shaving Cream. There are many videos on You tube which show this technique. A dish with a layer of shaving foam, a few drops of colourant, I used two TH Distress Ink Re-Inkers for this card. Stir gently with a stick or handle of paintbrush. Gently lay on your card, remove the shaving foam and there you are Shaving Foam Marble technique, which can be used for a host of backgrounds. Once you start you can't finish, I have ended up with quite a number of marbled sheets, so watch out, it will be popping up over the next few weeks or so. When dried, I stamped twice with a Penny Black stamp - Garden Poems, then I coloured them with Promarkers. Go on have some fun and get messy, I did and had a fab time. Have fun with your project.

Make your own Background Paper

I can't resist a technique challenge. Over at Quirky Crafts Challenges this week the challenge is to create your own background papers, no designer papers are allowed. Yippee, another opportunity to get in a mess. I started with a plain piece of white card. Blended in several TH Distress Inks, Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, Broken China, I then sprayed some water over the card, left a few seconds then dabbed off to create the splattered bleached effect. I sprayed a fine mist of Glitz Spray which sadly doesn't show on the picture. using Memento I stamped twice with a Penny Black stamp - Garden Poems. Coloured it in using the same Distress Inks as a watercolour paint. Added a Sheena Douglass greeting stamp, completed with a nice white ribbon with a silver edge.

Addicted to Black and White.

For our Addiction to Colour week, we have a favourite Black and White at Addicted to Stamps & More.
Please pop over to the blog for full details and of course to see the splendid samples from the Design Team.

Our amazing sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps!!!! They are generously offering you a pack of 7 digi's from their store!!!
For my cards, I couldn't decide between Black and White or White and Black, so decided to show both to see the difference between the two.On the card on the left I embossed the Flying Stars stamp from Penny Black, with Detailed white powder from Stampendous, as well as the butterfly a freebie with Craft Stamper.
On the card on the right I embossed with Black Tinsel WOW! powder to the stamps. I hope you like them, for this is probably the most expensive stamp I have ever bought but it is one of my most favourite, for it is so versatile. I look forward to visiting you over the next week.

MMM It's our birthday!

Yes, it's amazing but this challenge celebrates the first birthday of Make My Monday. Our wonderful 'boss' Jacqueline has chosen the theme and weekly topics for June, which is JUNE AND ASSOCIATED EVENTS.
Not only is it our birthday but it is also Jacqueline's next Sunday, so for her topic she would like to see a
Birthday Card with Pearls, for Pearls are the birthstone for the month of June. Here is my card.
The background is a designer sheet from Artylicious. I stamped, onto a piece of white card, then cut it out with a Spellbinders die, I inked it up before removing the die with a TH Distress ink. the stamp is from Penny black - Flying Stars.I followed the lines on the image with a Quickie glue pen, put it aside to dry. When dry, I rubbed in sections over all of the design with a piece of copper foil, so the flowers are actually foiled. I am hoping it will show up when enlarged. I added the required pearls and the appropriate greeting. I am looking forward to visiting your blogs to see your interpretations of our challenge. Thanks to everyone for your support, to past and present participants.

Masking No 2. at LIM

Masking at Less Is More, this is card No 2. Sadly, I do miss some weeks, so making up for it with a second entry. I stamped the flowers in the vase ( Penny Black) first, then masked it, over stamped with a favourite and useful standby block stamp, from Anita's.  I used the Foliage Big n Juicy ink pad. Matted onto red and black card. Punched a strip for the edge of the card from a Martha Stewart punch ( my one and only). Hope you ladies like them. Thanks for the lovely comments from visitors and to all of my followers and welcome to the two newest ladies, Sally H and jdegussem.

Card Buffet at St. Lukes's

2nd post today, Metal with Steampunk below
I'm a little behind on my pledge of one card per week to the fund raising blog St Luke's Charity Card Challenge. I have had a very busy month, plus catching a cold and a chest infection twice in a short period of time is not recommended. However, when you love your hobby it is easy to diversify your self pity, get on and make a card. I am enjoying the challenge once again from St. Lukes, which is a Card Buffett, also known as a Bingo challenge.
My card this week has the required four elements:-
Patterned Paper, Punch (Die-cut) with Embossing and Pearls.
The stamp used, Flying Stars by Penny Black is one of my forever favourites,  it can be different everytime I use it, this time I covered some areas with a Quickie glue pen, let it dry then covered it with copper foil, which I am hoping will show in the photo.  Technically, I don't think it is a flower, if it is , oops! It's not easy keeping to four, is it? Backing paper is from Artylicious, 'Just for you' is an old stamp from my stash.

Monochrome Flying Stars

This week at Less Is More the challenge is Monochrome, I love colour but black and white is my chosen monochrome for this challenge, it so suits the stamp, which is a Penny Black - Flying Stars. First it is stamped directly onto the white card with black ink. Then stamped onto black card with Versamark, sprinkled with Stampendous Detail White Embossing Powder, heat set. Positioning onto the black card is the most difficult part for when you punch out the circle with a 3" circle punch it needs to be able to match with the black image. Matted onto black card, a black slip knot added for the side looked quite bare. No greeting by choice for it is left open to add an appropriate greeting when needed.
