HSL Watercolour Challenge

Hello, can I say Happy New Year, never before has this meant as much as it does now, for we, all over the world are praying for a better year, for a year with the pandemic under control.  Today we begin a new monthly challenge at Happy Little Stampers - we have the Watercolour challenge.

For my card, I watercoloured a block with 3 Distress inks. Added a sun template, coloured it with Spiced Marmalade. When dry I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Pampas Grass by Inkylicious, added the birds and a sentiment by Crafty Roo Stamps. Brushed the edges with Spiced Marmalade.  I drew a fine line around the watercoloured panel for more detail.

Please pop over to the blog for the details and to see the wonderful inspiration from the Watercolour design team.

Stay safe and take care.

Use A Stencil

Hello everyone, thanks for your visit. I hope you are well and staying safe from this dreadful virus.  Today we are starting our next challenge at Sparkles Monthly Challenges.  Tammy has chosen  for us #134 Use A Stencil. Please visit the blog for details and to see the inspirational creations by the design team.  I had great fun with this challenge, and yes I was challenged for I don't often use a stencil, I have loads, as you can imagine, but I rarely use them, so I say thanks to Tammy for the challenge. Amongst the box of stencils I have, I found this adorable small circle one, which if I remember was a free gift in a magazine but it was a long time ago, and I hadn't even taken it out of the sealed packet.  I secured a square of white card to my work area, and with 2 in 1 glue I secured the stencil to the centre of the white card. I used DI Chipped Sapphire to colour the stencil.  I had to be so gentle with the little prongs, more a stipple than a brush technique. I then die cut the stencil and placed it on a die cut circle of glittered silver card. Set onto a white sq card, on a square of the glittered silver card. A few crystal gems and a die cut sentiment added. I hope you like it, and you will be inspired to go and use a stencil.

For my card, I wanted to do something different, then I remembered about a die set I had, which being honest, it must have been in a bargain box for me to have bought it, thinking one day I  will need a beetroot die!! As you do. Then on my personal inspiration site, I saw a card with a carrot and the sentiment, 'We're rooting for you'.  Which reminded me of the beetroot, all I had to do was cut the pieces out and make a card.  Job done.  Stay safe.

Anything beginning with M

Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope all is well for you and you are staying safe. Today we begin a new and very interesting challenge at Alphabet Challenges. Meg has chosen Anything Beginning with M. Please pop over to the blog for the details and to see the wonderful inspiration by the design team.

At first I wasn't sure what I could do, the letter M wasn't going to be as easy as I first thought, so come on prove me wrong with lots of different subjects beginning with M. I have so many Mermaids, in the end I decided on this one, which is from Stampendous, she is so beautiful. I first stamped her, placed a mask over her, with a shaving brush, I lightly brushed Faded Jeans and Salty Oceon surrounding her. I then removed the mask, using Promarkers, Zig pens, a glitter glue pen and Diamond Frost, I coloured her and added some glitter to her hair and tail. The octopus is a stamp from my underwater stash.  Enjoy making your card. Thanks again for your visit.

For my card I used a 5" sq. card. I made an aperture in a piece of card to enable me to create the inner square for the scene.  With a shaving brush I added very lightly Faded Jeans and Twisted Citron.  I then stamped the flowers and leaves to the edge of the square. The rocks and then the bird were added to the base of the square. All stamps, including the sentiment were free with Creative Stamping #86. There are so many wonderful stamps on this By The Water set, I  believe I will be making lots more cards with this set of stamps.  Thanks for your visit. Stay safe and enjoy your crafting.
