In the Trees

This week the CD Sunday Challenge has set us the challenge of Trees or Bushes. For me, part of the challenge is finding the theme on my few CDs, the remainder is deciding what to do with the found piece. I am in luck this week, lots to choose from on the Joanna Sheen, Oriental Dreams, which I purchased a long time ago. It seems Oriental may be trying to make a comeback, so this card may not feel too outdated. I used plain black paper to mat and layer the CD background and topper. Made a scroll for the small topper. Down the side I twice stamped and gold embossed a strip of Kanji (Japanese writing). I think this is a suitable card for a guy.

Chocolate, Cream and one other

This week at CD Sunday Challenge, I will be honest, I have struggled to find inspiration. I then remembered I had a CD Rom of The Tales of Peter Rabbit, by Crafter's Companions. I've only used it once before, time it came off the shelf, to become useful again. I do enjoy the finished result of decoupage cards, but nowadays they are ones we need to be handing over and not posting. All the papers except for the brown and cream card came from the CD. Thanks ladies for continuing to stimulate me.

Ring a Roses take 2

Over on CD Sunday Challenge the challenge this week is Ring A Roses, this is my second entry. I couldn't see any rules about numbers of entries so am hoping this is okay.  I have made another  because ---
I run a weekly card class and for this month it is the choice of the ladies which projects we will make. I was asked for side step type cards, hence I made the one above as a sample of a double side step card, which is from Fabulous Folds  CD by Rob Adams. I had more than enough left over from the design sheet I had printed out for my first entry, see here., which was from Debbie Moore Shabby Chic, Vintage Botanical. The ladies in the class, enjoyed making this card today, including adding the foiling onto parts of the lettering,  rose leaves and stems. Thanks for visiting me and for any comments you may leave. welcome to my newest follower Rita Odeh, so nice of you to add to my list of followers. I hope you enjoy your visits.

Spring has Sprung at CD Sunday

Perfect timing for Spring has Sprung over at CD Sunday Challenges, isn't the weather just amazing. We in the North of England, actually missed a winter as we know it, so this could even be our summer. I haven't as yet spotted any butterflies but they surely will be out and about soon. The background of the card is a distressed sheet form Paint Fusion by Sheena Douglass. The main topper panel of butterflies is from Maria G. Designs which were bought on Ebay. The 3 additional butterflies and the sentiment are from Lyndsay Mason Tattered Butterflies, I hope these are allowed as embellishments. I struggled for a while for this one, not having the right CD's, but I dug deep and found a few old ones, I'd almost forgotten about. Thanks ladies for the challenge, I enjoyed it.
