I looked through my stamps and decided to use some old favourites of mine, 

and combined them together. 

The stamps are from Indigo Blu, The Girl on a Bike and The Grand Tour11.

Stamped with Memento Sepia. 

All matted onto black card and based on a green background.

Today is the start of a monthly challenge at

Craft Rocket Challenges 

I was recently asked to join the group and am delighted to be

joining in my first challenge for the blog.

The theme for April is

A card which has been - Inspired by a Movie or a Book.

One of my favourite genre of films and books has been

the works of J.K. Rowling - The Harry Potter stories.

My card shows Hogwart's castle, Hedwig the owl and of

course the headmaster Dumbledore who is a stamp from 

Tandastamps (expired) the remaining stamps are from Indigo Blu.

Coloured with Distress Inks and coloured pencils.

A Kinetic Card (Movement)

For the challenge for the next week at Cardz 4 Guyz we have 

something different , A Kinetic Card

A card with some movement, e.g. a waterfall, shaker, slider etc.

You may need to show us two photos. 

The DT have again excelled with a super variety for the theme. 

I decided to make a waterfall card, the theme again being 

Halloween, I think, my last for this year, (thank goodness)

(Bear in mind I do have 5 grandsons who also have friends.)

I made a tent card from an A4 sheet of white card.
Black card to mat the main art work.

Here Come The Girls

For the challenge for the next two weeks at Fantasy Stampers, Jan would like to see Girls, the title being ' Here Come The Girls' . Please pop over to check out the details and of course the amazing inspiration from the Design Team.  I love this stamp from Indigo Blu which was a freebie with a magazine recently in the UK. I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest, this being my creation. For the background, I blended Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Tea Dye. The girl was stamped with Crafter's Pigment Ink - Royal Blue. I used Chipped Sapphire to stamp the foilage and dragonflies. I drew with a Quickie Glue pen onto the hair and embellishments, left it to dry, then added gold foil by rubbing with my bone folder, but found my  thumb nail did the better job. Added a blue ribbon. This card is intended for an on-line  Sapphire swap. I hope you enjoy the challenge and have a happy healthy two weeks ahead.

Christmas In July

Hello again, my second posting today. This will be my 40th Christmas card ready for this year. For the next month we at Sparkles Monthly would like to see you create 'Christmas in July'.  For my card, I decided on a  Clean and Simple style. Main body of card, is a bought scalloped card.  First layer is mirri silver card.
Second layer is a sheet from a Papaermania pack of Chritmas papers. Third layer white card - Decorated - Inigigo Blu stamp - Frosted Baubles and Paperartsy greeting stamp from Egg and Nog #3 set - both stamped with Versamark, embossed with Silver Bells Wow Powder. A light dusting of Festive Berries DI from TH. Sakura Glaze pens to colour the baubles, leaves and berries. I am looking forward to visiting you during the 'Christmas in July' during the next month. We are again delighted to be sponsored  by Marianne Designs.

I have been looking for a project to use my newly acquired Inidgo Blu stamps (free in the UK with a magazine), during April. I was inspired by a quick card by Clair Horner , a designer in the magazine.

Dried with my Heat tool, water then finger splattered over the card. Patted Dry, then heat dried.

April Showers

Hello everyone,  this is my first card on the Design Team for Ruby's Rainbow, it is a fortnightly challenge blog ,on a Wednesday,  which I am now delighted to be part of the amazing team. Thanks Shaz (boss) and all the team, for a super welcome.  My card then fills two purposes, one is saying Hello to all visitors and the DT. The other is to fulfill the challenge, which this month is  April Showers ( Hope we don't get too many of)

Firstly where ever you may be I wish each and every one of my visitors and followers a very happy and a healthy New Year. So close to the end of the alphabet at Alphabet Challenges - for the first week in 2014 we have Xtra- Ordinary and we need to X-plain why. I'm not really sue whether this card would be X-plained as being Xtra ordinary, but I know I had great fun making it.

Create a Summer Scene

Hello everyone, I'm back to crafting. I have so missed being able to create, but my mind has been elsewhere.  My husband has recently been very ill, but after heart surgery he is now recovering and will hopefully be able to return home soon. My mojo has returned. I would like to thank Jacqueline and the girls on the MMM Design Team for their support and understanding during the last month or so. Back to Business.

This week at Make My Monday,  the challenge chosen is for you to Create a Summer Scene, thank goodness we in the UK are experiencing some warmer days. I made a wall plaque recently for an arranged swap, which I am using for my DT piece, for it's first outing onto my blog, I created this onto a piece of mountboard,  which is the material used when framing pictures etc. I used several of the yellow - orange colours of Distress Inks, stamped for the background a crazy pavement background stamp. and also rubbed  Distress Ink over a piece of bubble wrap, which I pressed onto the board. After drying I started adding the stamps. I used black, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain, I added a small piece of mountboard to lay on a  butterfly. All, escept the bees, are from Inidgo Blu Meadow and Nature 1. The flowers were made with both a Spellbinder die and a Marianne die for the smaller flowers. Have fun with your project, remember to create a summer scene, which can be any project you wish and of course any size. For fun here is an extra project, 

as an example of a small sized scene. All stamps used are from Hobby Art  Coastal set.

# 43 Addicted to Colour

This is our 43rd challenge already, doesn't time go quickly? Here we are at Addicted to Stamps and More

and it is our week to challenge you with Colour, see the three colours above, you need to use all 3, of course not the exact named colours but as near as possible.  We the Design team, are also challenged, for we don't know what surprises our wonderful leader Kylie is going to put forward. I found this one difficult, I'll be honest for I am more a dirty, grungy creator, I don't often use such light bright colours, maybe I should  jump out of my comfort box more often, what do you think? Please pop over to the main blog for the DT have created some super samples for you.

I started by rubbing onto a piece of white card, with Faded Jeans (Blue), Worn Lipstick (Pink) and Wild Honey (Orange) I blended them all together, hence in some areas it looks green, combo of the blue and orange blended together. I heat embossed the dragonfly directly onto the card and separately onto card. I used H20's to colour the dragonfly. the stamped sentiment is from Indigo Blu, the dragonfly from Sheena Douglass and the small background flower from La Blanche stamps. Hope you like it, will be popping around to visit you, have fun with your creation, remember anything goes in the required colours.

ATS&More #39 CAS

Addicted to Stamps and More this week we are challenging you to our 39th challenge which is CAS

(Clean and Simple).  This week we will be sponsored by Heather Ellis, please check our main blog for more details. For my CAS this week, I have returned to an old but faithful technique. I choose an acrylic block the nearest size of my stamp, which is from Indigo Blu. I put several patted applications of Frayed Burlap onto the block, then sprayed with water. I tapped off the excess with a tissue. Then stamped directly onto my card. This is then dried with my heat tool. I then added the stamp to the block, added Vintage Photo and Frayed burlap to the stamp and stamped directly onto the prepared panel. Stamped Happy Birthday. added a few gems. I think this would make a nice quick and easy card for a guy. I look forward to again visiting your blogs. Happy crafting everyone. 

Alpha/Dictionary Letter R

This is the seventh week for THE CRAFT BARN Alpha/Dictionary challenge and they have asked for the letter R. I have chosen REINDEER. I used Chipped Sapphire as a watercolour for the sky, Pine needles for the ground, white emulsion paint for the hills and lower ground. I stamped the Santa's sleigh and reindeer in the sky directly to the page, then added lots of (peel off)  shh! stars. The trees down the hillside are from Sheena Douglass Pinescape set. The reindeer is from Sheena Douglass again - Christmas set (Creative Expressions). I added Hi-Tack glitter glue along the bottom edge for the glistening snow which I am hoping will show when the pic is enlarged. I have greatly enjoyed making this page, journalling is fun. This is only my second entry, for I was a late starter, however I did say I would catch up so below is my non-entry  attempt at the letter V - which was the first week of the challenge. 

I know there were several entries for VAMPIRE but as I am too late and just doing a catch up, I have gone with the one which appealed to me. I have a combination of Tandastamps,  Bats, cobwebs and skull. (So sorry to hear they are no longer trading). Inidgo Blu - Owl,  spider in web and church cloisters. Kanban - the Vampire from Jasper set of stamps. (Also very sorry that Kanban have ceased to trade too.) I loved making this page and I can keep it. I'll continue to play catch up, so for a few weeks I'll be adding two. I again used Distress Inks on top of white emulsion paint. I have a lot to learn with this journalling art.

Photo Inspirataion

At Make My Monday we are trying something different for us, Mynette has challenged us to find inspiration not only from a book jacket, but if we need to to take the inspiration from the story of the book. If you pop over to the blog you will find a more detailed explanation and of course the final results from the Design Team of how we were inspired. This is my card......

I decided to make a DL card, in the UK this measures approx 7" high and 3.5" wide, I believe the DL is Doubled Length. It was the pretty blossom on the trees, the blue sky and green grasses which first gave me the idea for my card, along with a new stamp from Crafty Inspirations with a pretty girl wearing a poke bonnet. I first heat embossed with white EP a blossom stamp, then brushed on the blue for the sky, the green for the grass. I coloured the blossom with a light pink, the branches and a few leaves. Stamped some grasses at the base of the card and added a sentiment. I stamped then coloured the lady with Promarkers.

Addicted to Stamps & More - Theme Challenge

I hope everyone have had a super Christmas, that Santa was kind to you and maybe you have some new crafty bits your longing to play with. We at Addicted to Stamps and More have had a super break, I wish all my visitors a very happy New year. It is now time to get back to crafting and challenging, thank goodness, for I do enjoy these challenges and to visit your blogs, glad to get back to normal.

My card is my version of a beautiful card which was featured in a recent Craft Stamper magazine. I coloured the main white card and randomly stamped the swirls . Distressed further a piece of corrugated card. coloured white card with TH Distress inks Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey, distressed the edges. Stamped bees from a Sheena Douglass stamp set, a background stamp with small swirls, the main 

image of the plant is from Indigo Blu stamps. Tied with a piece of twine and a button. 

Some of the design team have used Bugaboo Digi Stamps, others have used a varied collection of sources.

Make My Monday - Vellum

At Make My Monday during November we are asking you to continue the theme of AUTUMN - To use up your bits of stash and for this week, we would like to see some VELLUM.  Please pop over to our blog to see some wonderful examples from the Design Team and to check out our few but essential rules.  For my card I first created a coloured background with TH Distress inks . I then dried it,  sprayed with water to get the diffused effect. Enlarge the pic and you will see all of the technique close up. I then sprayed with 3 mica sprays, Cosmic Shimmer Golden Fish, Desert Moon Spray - Horny Toad Teal and Sprinky's - Antique. Dried it all again. I stamped with Black Memento the ferns and grasses along with the seeded plant (?) from Indigo Blu. I stamped Sheena Douglass butterflies onto Vellum, then stamped again with a very small scroll stamp from La Blanche to provide a pattern. The sentiment is from Lyndsay Mason's tattered Butterfly set. Who says you can't mix up your stamps, for me it's remembering where to return them  to after I have finished with them. Not many seem to be enjoying this month's theme, I suppose it's because we are all making Christmas cards, I do look forward to those who have have made the effort to join us once again.

Inkyspirational DT Call # 3

This is my card.  I have matted onto black, red and white. The main image has been created using a bird stamp, purchased from E-bay, along with the sentiment, I think it is a Time Holtz one, not totally sure. The branches are from Inidgo Blu, from Nature 1 set. I created the moon with a punched out sticky note circle, coloured first with Pumice Stone (grey), then brushed around the edges with black soot. The berries, were created with an idea from Sheena Douglas, I used the eraser at the end of a pencil as a stamp into Fired Brick, works a treat I think. Thanks Sheena. 

Another Sketch

Looking around for a different challenge blog I found Addicted to Stamps, which describes me perfectly. this week for their challenge it is Sketch #2. Here is my interpretation.

The background and centre panel have been embossed with a Christmas Vine embossing folder. I used leaves from a Paperartsy set to form the background for the butterfly. the butterfly and sentiment are from Indigo Blu stamps. I wish this relatively new challenge blog lots of best wishes and shall be following their challenges and hopefully joining in a few as the weeks progress.
I am also entering this card into Crafty Cardmakers for their challenge Winged Things.
