Body of Water

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today we begin a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. Sue, who sadly is poorly at present, has chosen #371 Body of Water- any interpration. To see the design team's inspiration please visit the blog.

I stamped the Sweet Dixie lighthouse first, and covered it with a mask. I then used Tim Holtz technique which he calls Wrinkle Free Distress technique. I used two Distress Oxides - Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon to provide the splattered background. I used all four of the stamps from the same set. The mask was removed, then  I coloured the lighthouse, yachts, rocks and birds with Promarkers, a white Gel pen and pencils. Take care and enjoy your crafating.

Zebra

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today we begin a new challenge at Alphabet Challenges. We have completed our 13th A - Z, so for the next two weeks to begin our 14th A-Z list of challenges, Helen has chosen for the letter A, to have A is for Alphabet, where the player can choose any letter, then a theme for that letter.

For my first card in this series, I have chosen to begin with the letter Z. I began with a 6" white card, with a black mat added. On a piece of white card, using a die cut circle I blended several yellow tones to greate a large yellow sun in the background. Using stamps of the zebra, and various strips to stamp, plus the flower and leaves I coloured them using Promarkers. They are all Crafty Indivdual stamps, from within a Creative Stamping Magazine #121. Once all coloured and fussy cut, I positioned and glued the pieces to the white piece of card. I added several black gemstones. I so enjoyed creating this card, I hope you also have some fun with your free choice letter.

Looking through my stash, I rememberd one of my golden oldies - a CD from La Pashe - The Best of 2012, gosh, is it that long ago? From the images of the speeding bike and background materials from my stash I created this card, old but still relevent today.

Stripes

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today at Cardz 4 Galz we begin with a new challenge, chosen by Dawn, #247 Stripes. To see the remainder of the design team's inspiration please visit the blog.

I began with a 5.5" white sq. card, I wanted something pretty for the galz but to have interesting stripes, so I ventured onto Pinterest and was inspired by the floating circles, hence, this is the card style I made.

It all began by die cutting a circle of strong acetate. I cut six strips of paper approx 1/2 " deep, from a paper pad.  I stamped the sentiment from my stash. The paper pieces were glued to the acetate, then cut around the circle when dry. I adhered the circle to the card with foam strips added behind the paper strips. I then die cut a flower from Lisa Horton's wild flower dies. Clean, simple and I think feminine.
