Handmade Embellishment

Happy Bank Holiday to everyone who is having one today. Today at Make My Monday Fliss has chosen a really interesting challenge, to make a handmade embellishment for your project. It seems that pin wheels are becoming fashionable at present. So to be in vogue (as they say) here is my card with a home made pin wheel. I have used paper from a 12  x 12 scrapbook page, for the background, on the reverse is the white spotted paper which I used for the pin wheel. The butterfly is from a Marianne die, I used some red stash paper and edged it with black, adding three black gems for the torso. The greeting is from Words - stamps by Sheena Douglas.

Aged to Perfection

It's thanks this week at CD Sunday Challenge to Sue B for choosing our challenge which is Aged to Perfection, now of course this is once again left to your imagination, for there are a few things which do get better with age. However, the moment I saw the makings of this card on The Best of La Pache 2010 CD, I wanted to make a card. I have kept it fairly simple from printing it out for I think the the way the couple are with each other tells their story. I stamped Congratulations onto a banner stamp, and added a printed sentiment, On Your Special Day. I also used a sheet of pale lilac card and purple card printed out from Sheena Douglas Paint Fusion CD, to mat and layer the main image. Have fun everyone looking forward to visiting you, during the next week.

H - is for Happy

Hello again to my followers (friends), here we are again at Alphabet Challenges, Shaz has chosen for the letter H - HAPPY, all you need to do is to add the word HAPPY onto your project, lots of choices here.
I went with the obvious, the card design is from a sketch I used a few weeks ago for another project but I felt it suited this card so well. the papers are from a free pack with a magazine, Pink Petticoat Vintage Rose Collection. The gorgeous little ballet dancer is from Paintbox Poppets series by Crafter's Companions. I coloured the stamped image with Promarkers and DI Tattered Rose. An addition of a flower and a few leaves, plus the HAPPY  birthday sentiment with a few jewels to complete the card. I am so much looking forward to visiting you again, to see your HAPPY cards, most of all, have fun.

Inspirational Card for MMM - Green and Yellow

The piece of card immediately above is a sheet which I coloured using the Shaving Foam (Cream) technique. The stamped images on the right are from an Inkadinkado set of Inchie bird stamps. Those on the left are the ones I used on last week's  Make My Monday design card. As a crafter I don't like to waste anything, especially if I have toiled over it. I decided to use the right side to make some 4 inch square cards, with a twinchie (2 inch square) stamp and inchies (1 inch square) stamps. I may end up making a box too, to hold a number of cards and envelopes, to give as a present. Again, watch this space................

#46 Anything Goes @ ATS and More

Hello to my visitors, once again at Addicted to Stamps and More it is time for #46 which is Anything Goes.
My card this week has been designed both as a Design card for ATSM and to be entered into Pastel Colours over at  Lavinia's monthly challenge. I adore the stamps from Lavinia, I am trying to slowly build up my collection. The bridge on the card is one my latest purchases, it is a strong favourite of mine. I don't have Pan Pastels, but by using very light colours of DI,   I hope I have achieved the Pastel look. Every stamp on the card is from Lavinia. Please pop over to the ATSM blog where you will find the few rules, plus a wonderful array of Anything Goes from Kylie and the wonderful Design Team. Thank you for visiting and I hope you will be popping back again. Thanks for any comments, which are always a joy to read.
Many thanks to our wonderful sponsors at

I do hope this will stir up your creative streak and inspire you to join us. Fat - Tastic (4 x 4 ) is different, it's new (ish) and fun.

Must Have Buttons

At Here Come The Boys their challenge this week is your project Must Have Buttons and of course it is a blog which is just for male orientated projects. here is my card. The gingham card is from a CD- Crafter's Companion Peter Rabbit. The blue card is from my stash. I bought the elephant stamp on Sunday at the Ross Craft Show. The baby is made with Shrink Plastic, it's ages since I played with this.  I coloured on the reverse of both with Promarkers. The stitching around the squares follows on from the stitching around the elephants, I used a stamp for the stitching. A pair of punched blue feet and the obligatory buttons to embellish the card. Hope you like it ladies.

Colour challenge at MMM

Hello to all of my visitors, once again it is my time to choose the topic for Make My Monday, I am still going for a Colour challenge, this week it is Green and Yellow. These two colours so much represent spring for me, this past week or so it has actually felt like spring in the North East of England.

I first decided to stamp onto a previously prepared backing sheet from the day I spent a while playing with Shaving Foam (Cream), making lots of colourful sheets of paper. More details can be found on You Tube, go on give it a try, it's great fun. I used stamps from a Paperartsy set - Flora and Fauna Set 3. Once cut out , some needed a little extra colour of Promarkers, green and yellow of course. I stamped directly onto the white card using the leaves stamp and DI Peeled Paint, which was coloured in with two shades of green.
All pieces attached to the page, with a happy Anniversary greeting completed the card. Being a crafter, I don't like to waste even small pieces of card, especially if I have made them, so why don't you pop back on Wednesday for my Inspirational Card to see how I got the most from  the remains of one A5 piece of card.

Go Green

Another Sunday , already, I can't believe it's nearly half way through the year. This week at
CD Sunday Challenges Jenny has chosen  a colour themed card - Go Green. The possibilities here really are endless. When looking through a recent CD purchase from E Bay - Crafting Qween - Spellbound I saw this image and the more I looked at it, the more peaceful I felt. I think it is a beautiful relaxing image, and of course there is a lot of green. I used for the small amount of backing paper a spare piece in my stash box from Sheena Doulgas CD Paint Fusion. Used an X-cut punch for the fancy edging, two lovely dies, the scroll and the flower, many thanks to Sandra for the loan of. So ladies (and any gents) off you go, search your CDs for the colour GREEN, and please along the way,  have fun.

If your a newcomer you need to know that Downton Lodge is the where the REAL story of Cluedo began. Think along those lines and you will understand anything else that is said. Photo Inspiration at ATSM

For this week at Addicted to Stamps and More, we offer you a photo to inspire you. The interesting part of a photo inspiration is the possibilities of ways to be inspired are many.  The background, the colours, the design, and of course many more. My first thought was of it being in a wooden cabin. A window with a view. This time for a change I searched through a CD I have called 100 Window Images, which provided the image on the card. The wood background is from Debbie Moore Shabby Chic In the Garden CD. I added a strip of punched out card, using a Martha Stewart punch. Please pop over to the main blog to see how the Design Team were truly inspired. I look forward to visiting you, many thanks to those who have popped onto my blog to see me recently, every visit is so much appreciated.
We are once again delighted to be sponsored by

For my Fat Page, I chose the gorgeous digi stamp of Daphne Melancholy Moppet. I used some old stash of Papermania papers, and coloured her in with Promarkers. Pppppppppick Up a Penguin

The Christmas card challenge blog Winter Wonderland have a lovely title this week Ppppp --pick Up A Penguin. At Sketch Saturday, I have used the above sketch for their current challenge. The two challenges fitted so well together. The penguin is a stamp by Lyndsay Mason from Funstamps. I have used for the background a snowflake paper from my stash, used some pale blue glitter card for winter bling, added plain white card for contrast. coloured small areas with Promarkers. Thanks ladies for helping me to get going with my Christmas cards and for your two lovely challenges.

Literary Inspiration @ MMM

This week at Make My Monday, Mynette has chosen a Literary Inspiration, which happens to be one of my most favourite novels, Jane Eyre. We are asked to create a project and to explain how we were inspired. We can gather the inspiration from either the book presentation, the images, any part of the story. I chose for this challenge to go with the book design. Very simple, understated really, this was the first thing I thought when I looked at the picture of the book. I have used a light grey card, using a Marianne oval die, I stamped the pretty lady form a set called 'Across The Miles' from The Stampman. The sentiment, 'It's Your Day' is from a set of Words Only form Sheena Douglas. I do look forward to seeing how you are inspired. Please do look at the blog, for the Design Team have crated some lovely cards to suit the challenge.
A quick hello to my followers, I see I have a few more added, your so kind, I do hope you continue to visit and enjoy my creations. many thanks to each and every one of you.

Ornate Blossom

Hello everyone, this week at CD Sunday Challenges, Christine has chosen Ornate Blossom for our challenge. Lots of good reasons to play with our CDs in finding some beautiful blossoms or blooms. I decided to go for one big blossom. The background and blossom have been made using a Debbie Moore Shabby Chic haberdashery CD. Not somewhere I would have first looked for blossom but fate drew me to these blooms. I really am not a pink girl, but something draws me to this card. Have fun in finding your blossoms everyone, I look forward to visiting you over the next week, usually I comment on the last day of the challenge, but I do get there.  Have fun. Caz

Pink Cloissone

This week we are again happy to be sponsored by
Hi to all my visitors and followers. This week for my design card at Addicted to Stamps and More we are once again challenging you to a CAS project. Remember CAS is Clean and Simple. A lot of white or the main colour of your card should remain clean. I have recently for my class spent a session demonstrating and making cards with the Faux Cloissone (pronounced Klaw-zone) designs. The above card is an example.
I used a Sheena Douglass branch to stamp directly onto the card which I heat embossed. The leaves and flowers from the same set of stamps were stamped onto spare white card. Coloured with H2O paints, when dried I adhered them to the branch. Once the adhesion was dry, I applied Glossy Accents to give the final enamel look. Stamped in the upper right corner is a stamped greeting from Hobbyart. I look forward to visiting you to see how you have created your CAS card this week. Take care everyone and have some fun.

Anything That Flies

Hello again, this week at Make My Monday Suzi B has chosen for our theme 'Anything That Flies'. Now I just love this kind of challenge, for there are so many topics to choose, I have recently bought this lovely stamp of owls from Little Claire. The background, if you have visited me in the past will recognise this as being one of my many shaving foam (cream) and ink refill drops piece of card. I love this method for until you have scrapped off the foam, you have no order what marbled effect you will have. I coloured the owls in with Promarkers. I hope you enjoy your creating your project , whatever form of flight, flying your choose.

'In Trouble Again'

I made this card with two challenges in mind. Firstly the monthly challenge at Crafter's Companions  Challenge blog - May's challenge is Masculine, using at least one item from any of their products. This stamp, called 'In Trouble Again' is from the Paintbox Poppets  stamps range.  The Design of the card was created following this sketch
from  Sketch Saturday. I used papers from my scrapbook papers stash along with some Core-dinations card. I used Promarkers to colour the little boy image. He so reminds me of one of my grandson's, who is also regularly in trouble. LOL Two lovely challenges combined on one. Thanks to everyone who created these challenges. I'll be back again.

Weddings

Welcome to my blog, whether your a regular visitor or new, I'm so pleased your visiting me. Today at CD Sunday Challenges Sue T,  the latest recruit to the Design Team has chosen for this week's theme, Weddings, a suitable choice for the beginning of the Weddings season. I made a stepper card, one of my favourite shapes from the Robert Adams Fabulous Folds CD. I matted a layer of mirri card, then a layer of some beautiful white and silver paper, recently bought from Sarah at Peerless Designs. The main image is from Joanna Sheene's Vintage Romance CD. An additional ribbon and bow, small white flowers and a pretty leaf shaped charm. I again look forward to visiting you to see your wonderful creations for weddings.

# 43 Addicted to Colour

This is our 43rd challenge already, doesn't time go quickly? Here we are at Addicted to Stamps and More
and it is our week to challenge you with Colour, see the three colours above, you need to use all 3, of course not the exact named colours but as near as possible.  We the Design team, are also challenged, for we don't know what surprises our wonderful leader Kylie is going to put forward. I found this one difficult, I'll be honest for I am more a dirty, grungy creator, I don't often use such light bright colours, maybe I should  jump out of my comfort box more often, what do you think? Please pop over to the main blog for the DT have created some super samples for you.
I started by rubbing onto a piece of white card, with Faded Jeans (Blue), Worn Lipstick (Pink) and Wild Honey (Orange) I blended them all together, hence in some areas it looks green, combo of the blue and orange blended together. I heat embossed the dragonfly directly onto the card and separately onto card. I used H20's to colour the dragonfly. the stamped sentiment is from Indigo Blu, the dragonfly from Sheena Douglass and the small background flower from La Blanche stamps. Hope you like it, will be popping around to visit you, have fun with your creation, remember anything goes in the required colours.
